I like Nathaniel

fairycupcakes · 17/05/2023 21:31

Nathaniel

DustyLee123 · 17/05/2023 21:31

I like Nate, not Nathaniel, and I love Ruben/Reuben.

JamMakingWannaBe · 17/05/2023 21:36

Nathaniel. Wish it went with my surname.

TrustPenguins · 17/05/2023 21:37

Nathaniel.

Or Nathan.

Bluebellies · 17/05/2023 21:41

Nathaniel/Nate, but definitely not Nathan. Reuben is lovely too. Not Kester. Anything that rhymes with molester isn’t good, in my opinion.

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/05/2023 21:42

NOT Kester.

Either of the others is nice. Like them both.

BonjourCrisette · 17/05/2023 21:47

Kester is great. I know a couple and I really like it. Reuben is nice. Nathaniel/Nate is pretty awful.

Kester is great. I know a couple and I really like it. Reuben is nice. Nathaniel/Nate is pretty awful.

How do you know a couple? It's really not common is it?

defi · 17/05/2023 21:53

Nathaniel is a lovely name

Not common at all so it is quite weird. I am related to one, another is the son of a friend. I was also at university with a different one!

BonjourCrisette · 17/05/2023 21:58

Oh, and the builder who is doing my extension has a brother called Kester. So actually more than a couple!

ourflagmeansdeath · 17/05/2023 22:09

Nathaniel's nice enough and I love Nate for a nickname. Reuben is beautiful as well so either of those 2 are lovely. Kester's awful, makes me think of a chestnut.

You know every one!

mangomama91 · 17/05/2023 22:14

I like Nathaniel

Arxx · 17/05/2023 22:15

Nate is cool but Reuben is one of my all time favourites and has a cute nickname, Reu

CymruChris · 17/05/2023 22:15

How funny I met a Kester a few weeks ago. An unusual name, I don't dislike it! He said his mum named him after a character in her favourite novel, I can't remember the title but I'd not heard of it.

Skinnybluebody · 17/05/2023 22:15

I've heard the unsavoury term of 'chewing kesters' meaning ones underwear is stuck up ones bottom. Absolutely do not call the child Kester... you know, just in case others are familiar with this term

pilates · 17/05/2023 22:19

Nathaniel - live Nate too

pilates · 17/05/2023 22:19

Love

It is actually quite weird now I think about it!

Danielle9891 · 17/05/2023 22:26

I've never heard of kester as a first name, I've heard it as a surname. Reuben is a sandwich so I much prefer Nate.

purpleme12 · 17/05/2023 22:30

I love Nathaniel/Nate
This is absolutely what I would call my boy if I had one.
Sadly I won't get the chance but I would love to have named him that. I would have called him Nate though yes

Boobahs · 17/05/2023 22:32

I have a Nate!! Not Nathaniel though, just Nate 💙

Belmondo · 17/05/2023 22:32

@BonjourCrisette that's quite a strong reaction to Nathaniel/Nate 😁 what don't you like about it? I think of it as quite heritage, IYKWIM, but also maybe a bit American?

I'm not sure about Kester - I think I like it in principle but I sort of feel like there would be more, if it were a really good name!
