Hi there,
I love all of the below names, partner doesn’t like Lydia but it’s one of my faves. I love Amy but worry it’s a bit plain. Which one would you go for? I think I like Amy best! Thanks 😀
FYI May and Anne are family middle names, Louise is my name as I think I’d like it in there somewhere!

Lydia May
Lucy May
Amy Louise
Zoe Anne
Georgina May

I like all except Lydia.

Provably Zoe Anne would be my first choice.

PickledScrump · 17/05/2023 17:07

The only one I like is Lucy but I wouldn’t have May as it’s so overdone as a middle name. Lucy Anne would be my choice

NannyR · 17/05/2023 17:08

Lydia, Lucy and Zoe are great names.

Liv999 · 17/05/2023 17:09

Zoe Anne would be my choice

Whichwhatnow · 17/05/2023 17:10

Lucy and Amy are a bit dull to me. Zoe feels dated, maybe because I know several around my age (mid to late 30s/early 40s). Lydia I can't make my mind up on - part of me loves the sound of it but part of me really dislikes it as being a little too... prim, somehow? Sorry, not helpful!

Georgina is lovely and I love the shortenings George and Georgie - two of my favourite women IRL have those nicknames. I think it's simultaneously pretty and really strong. I also adore Georgia and that would have been my daughter's name if I ever had one!

HagsGlen · 17/05/2023 17:11

Lydia is the only one I like.

Homeeducatortoone · 17/05/2023 17:11

Then I think you have your answer Amy Louise .we were calling our boys their names before they were born only name oldest kept was his middle name which he hates his first name changed 3 times ,

though we didn't know his gender . With our youngest his name stuck from day one it was my choice hubby went along with it as he named oldest Son .

Pemba · 17/05/2023 17:16

I like all of them, but probably Amy slightly less than the others, sorry! Absolutely nothing wrong with it though, it's a good name.

Zoe is my favourite, just gorgeous, closely followed by Lydia.

JamSandle · 17/05/2023 17:24

Lydia May

Londonlady1423 · 17/05/2023 17:24

I like them all, my name is also Louise and I recently named my daughter Lucy. Initially I was worried they were too similar but now I love it.
Out of your options I'd go with Lucy Anne or Amy Louise

CoffeeYes · 17/05/2023 17:31

If Amy is your favourite then go for that! However, Amy Louise/May/Anne sounds very 90s. Most girls seemed to have Louise, Marie or Anne as a middle name. Nowadays, May is such a common middle name. Go for a different middle name.

QueenDile · 17/05/2023 18:26

I think blastoise would be a better choce imo

Swearwolf · 17/05/2023 18:32

I think any but Georgina, that doesn't fit with the pretty sound of the others, it's very harsh sounding.

Thanks Londonlady that reassures me. I also love Lucy but was worried it was too similar to Louise but I might take the plunge 😊

Thanks everyone for the responses, I think it’s now between Lucy and Zoe so might just see what she looks like 😍

Amy Anne?
I like the alliteration

FayCarew · 17/05/2023 19:12

Lydia - ok, but Lyds
Lucy - nice but popular
Amy Louise - seems very 1980s
Zoe - nice
Georgina nice but long

I don't like May or Anne as middle names because they have been overused as middle names, as has Louise.

Something like Amy Lydia or Amy Georgina seems more distinctive.
Otherwise, just pick the first name that goes best with the surname.

FayCarew · 17/05/2023 19:16

Amy Anne isn't alliterative, @BronnauMawrion, because the two As don't have the same sound . Lucy Louise is.

BonjourCrisette · 17/05/2023 19:17

Lydia and Lucy are both lovely.

Amy is very 1980s. Zoe also a bit dated but better than Amy. Georgina is not my favourite but it's OK. Do you like Georgie? She'll end up being Georgie.

I would probably go for Lucy Anne if it was me.

BronnauMawrion · 17/05/2023 19:18

Ah well, you know what I mean. I like the A sounds.

Daijoubudesu · 17/05/2023 19:21

Zoe Anne or Zoe Louise if you want to use your name.

DrunkInTennessee · 17/05/2023 19:23

Lucy is my favourite.

MexicanDrinkingWorm · 17/05/2023 19:30

Lucy and Zoe are both lovely! My middle name is Louise (us and half the other girls born in the 80s and 90s right?!) and I’m considering Eloise as a middle name for my unborn daughter. I feel like it’s like Louise but a bit of a twist!
Lucy Eloise is lovely in my opinion and avoids too many Ls 😊

LittleMonks11 · 17/05/2023 19:34

You will call her Amy Louise Bear

Newusername123456 · 17/05/2023 19:44

Zoe is my favourite- great name! Closely followed by Lucy. Good luck deciding
