No judgement allowed.

I love so many including Murphy and Story for girls.

Also Tiger and Darwin for boys.

I have more but I'll post those when they come to mind.

What are your favourite unusual names?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

A boy in my DC's high school year was named 'Sincere' which I like a lot.

There was a teacher with the first name 'Jazzmin' so the 'out there' names that people complained about 20 - 30 years ago and were supposed to prevent their possessors from ever having a professional job are showing up in the mainstream now. There was also a politician local to me with the first name 'Twinkle'. I draw the line at that, it's an awful name unless you are a cat and even then it would be one of those cats that poo on the neighbours' flower beds.

Loveness for a girl. It is the middle name of one of the nicest women I have ever met

Trez1510 · 21/05/2023 15:24

A million years ago when I briefly attempted to conceive, we'd jokingly settled on a boy's name - Amorous Arrow Macxxxxxx. It had a ring to it 😁

I have 2 with odd (natural world) names, they’re 26 & 30 now. Both well educated professionals, it has never held them back.

Larkspur and Birdie.

Birdie was my Gran's nickname, which was then shortened to Bir. Her actual name was Noreen 🤣.

I don't know whether it actually counts as unusual but I met a baby boy Rafferty the other day, combined with his very "blues musician" surname I absolutely love it. I'd never heard it as a first name before.

The only Rafferty I know of is actor Jude Law's son.

Horatio and Caspian for a boy

Clementine and James for a girl

Maybe not really unusual but they are a bit different

Rowmack · 22/11/2023 01:22

when giving names you have to think about the child being in a school setting, so Jelly wouldn't be good for them.
