Gender Neutral Sibling Name for Jude

MamaMakingWaves · 29/04/2023 19:48

Hello all,

We’re expecting a sibling for our DS Jude at the back end of the year..

Can you help us find another Gender Neutral (or at least non-traditional name) for them :) we’re unsure of the sex yet.

For a boy, we like:
Brody
Ellis
Sonny

and for a girl we like:
Dylan
Ezra (Ezzie)
Juno
Dylan
Ivy
(I also like Stevie!)

but me and my partner are struggling to land on one we both like!
Any additions would be much appreciated!

xx

Is Dylan a girls name? It means Son of the Sea. Never come across a female Dylan.

Ezra is boy.

Jesse?

The only one I can think of is Dylan M, as they still go by their birth name. I believe it is rising in popularity for female babies generally though.

I guess it depends on whether you want to date your baby's name so precisely to a generation.

I love Jude and Quinn together!

How about:

Lennon
Oakley
Emerson
Georgie
Eden
Rowan
Monroe
Billie/Billy
Phoenix
Avery

I know a boy called Willow. I think it's a very feminine name but it does actually work and people just call him Will.

Fuerza · 29/04/2023 23:45

Rowan
Casey

Obvious ones, I like Charlie and Sacha.

Weirdly I like Kim for a boy but for a girl.
Dylan is quite feminine I think but i'd spell it differently for a girl. Dillon, like the surname.

Loveee Dylan for a girl. And Ellis.

Also for girls love:
Inez, Billie, Blair, Reagan, Winnie, Torvi, Daphne, Opal, Pearl, Trudie, Flora, Noelle,

And for boys I love:
Ralphie, Kit, Ivan, Saxon, Cyrus, Duke, Dexter, Saint, Onyx, Ozzie, Stanley, Jett, Todd, Vinny

Jasper and Jude too 😍

Does Jude have any cousins? I sometimes find (weirdly) that helps me find a suiting name, when I can imagine them all being called at a family do 😂

Sydney
Robyn
James

Tyler
Cameron

Can be used for either

We’ve categorised them into boys and girls as some are more commonly used for one gender or the other.. for example Dylan (often used for a boy) we’d be less interested in using that for a boy etc.

We like Ezra for a girl.. but not for a boy. Which would make the name more uncommon. But I appreciate that’s not to everyone’s tastes! ☺️

Sorry if that’s confusing for people! 🥴 I suppose to clarify.. we’re looking for ‘non-traditionally-gendered’ names.

but all GN names welcome for any gender.

really like Blake, Kit, Cameron and Jesse! 😊

Just pick a name you like - stop getting yourself tied up in silly labels.

Lots of the names are traditionally boys names that some people decide to use for girls. Funnily enough no-one suggests using girls names for boys - nobody's saying they love Megan or Ingrid for a boy (I avoided suggesting very 'girly' names such as Sophie or Isabella because I thought that people would say they sound too feminine).

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/04/2023 01:48

Ezra is very much a boy’s name and quite popular so knock that off.

Ezra is terrible for a girl, honestly. Dylan too. But perhaps not as awful as Ezra.

How about Albi?

I was just reading a thread on Twitter about the many ways to declare your love in Arabic. Albi is one of them, meaning 'my heart' (if I remember well)
