I am so glad most posters like it and I think we will go for it!

We are after an underused, classic, straightforward, international, nice sounding name and I think Christina is all of that.

I've NC for this as it's my name in RL! FWIW, I'm still known as "Christina" and have never had anybody try to shorten it to "Tina" or "Chris". So nicknames are not inevitable!

Most of the other Christinas I've met have been around my age (40s) or younger. The people saying that it belongs with names like Patricia, Susan or Pauline are surely thinking of the name "Christine" (which is more dated, IMO)?

The only downsides are that I get called "Christine" sometimes, and also that some people can't spell it (I get Kristina, Cristina, and once even Krystyna!). But I really love my name and think that the upsides far outweigh this. It's an unusual and yet classic (not dated!) name, with variants all over Europe. Go for it, OP!

Yay from me! It's my daughter's name. She has recently started introducing herself with he full name, up till now she has been Tina or sometime Tia

It's rather dated and staid.

I like Constantina, which can be shortened to either Tina or my preferred Connie.

I'm a Christina but it's been shortened to Tina since I was 2.
If you're happy with it being shortened, go for it.

I am a Cristina, have been called Cris , but mainly full name no nicknames :)

@ElliePascoe sorry that was me who mentioned Pauline etc and Yes you are correct I was thinking more of Christine and would agree that Christina does have a slightly younger and less frumpy vibe compared to Christine

I still don't love it particularly but it is much nicer than Christine and it does meet the OP's brief

We have a 90something family member Christina, and also an impossibly glamorous much-travelled friend in her 60s. So good associations here.

Plus, of course, the impeccably cool bassist Tina Weymouth.

I'm Christina and I really like it now wasn't as keen when I was a child. I go by Chrissy.
