How many Evies do you know?!

So grateful for all the responses on my previous thread.
To further this - and hopefully help to narrow things down further for us - I wanted to ask specifically how any Evies do you know? If you’re happy to share your region (north, south etc) that would be great.
Thanks so much to those who already answered this as part of my previous thread!

Thanks in advance!

South West - I know 2 Evies and 2 Edies all under the age of 4.

RedToothBrush · 13/04/2023 10:47

One or two Evies are compulsory in every class in DS'S school.

He has two Evies and an Ava for good measure.

They all look like clones which doesn't help.

Someone should do a zombie movie based on the phenomena.

Three primary school age in my very small road and my friend's baby. Also several Eves, Avas etc. South East and very over used.

Thanks all for the useful responses. Interesting to hear views from across the country as I only know of one little Evie near us. There does seem to be some regional variation, but as someone has commented of course this is no guarantee that she wouldn’t be one of many in her class. I have a name that has been in the top 10 for many years and as luck would have it, have never been one of many during school years, but this may well just have been fortunate. Have always loved my name though despite its popularity. We are now down to our two favourite names (the other isn’t even in the top 100) so I guess popularity is definitely a factor that we’re taking into account with this one.

DD is 17 and there were 2 in her (very small) school year.
DS is 14 and there is 1 in his (very small) school year.
We are in The North

YellowGreenBlue · 13/04/2023 11:17

I only know one Evie, but I also know several Eva / Eve / Evelyns.

bobby81 · 13/04/2023 11:26
  1. North ish
fairycupcakes · 13/04/2023 11:32

I’ve only ever known one Evie - when I was in primary school and she was a horrid little girl and bullied everyone. I’m now in my early 30s so she would be too.

Teapleasebobb · 13/04/2023 11:42

None. Apparently they're 'everywhere' though.

My daughter is Eva. Apparently they're 'everywhere' too but, I only know one other. In her school year of 120 children, she is the only Eva, there is no Eve, Evie, Ava, Evelyn or any other similar sounding name 🤷‍♀️

We're in the South East.

adultdds · 13/04/2023 13:20

One inthe north

FlounderingFruitcake · 13/04/2023 13:23

None. We’re in London. I don’t know any Eve, Eva or Avas either! I know they’re supposedly everywhere but they’re certainly not here.

HauntedPencil · 13/04/2023 13:29

A hell of a lot of Eve/Evie/EvA/Ava but more do aged 8 upwards

Felixss · 13/04/2023 13:34

My daughter is called Evelyn she's 10 there's no other Evie's in her class. She had Evie as a nickname but she's chooses to go by Evelyn. I didn't think Evie was a full name more of a nickname so that's why I chose Evelyn. We are in the north.

Eva is an Evie as far as I'm concerned. You are kidding yourself into believing it's different.

DHsPoorBack · 13/04/2023 14:13

Tonnes of Evie's, from newborn to 20 something, probably 5 I can think of the top of my head. And more Ava's than Evie's. It's funny being at soft play and a mum shouts "Evie!" and you see about 8 little girls turn round. Same with Ava.

Only know one Eva (full name Evangeline) and one Eve.

East of England.

It's not the same at all imho.

CatsAddictedToDreamies · 13/04/2023 14:19

2 in DS1s class aged 13 2 in Ds2s class aged 12. Sotuh UK. Others dotted throughout the school. A couple from the childminders from years ago but at different schools now. A whole host of Eves as well plus an Evie niece aged 5 in New Zealand.

Prangeal · 13/04/2023 14:21

I’m in the South East and Evie really does seem to be everywhere. Along with all the other names that sound the same, mentioned up thread. They all blend in together. But Evie is definitely the name I hear the most out and about, there seems to be an Evie every single time I go to the park or soft play.
