So grateful for all the responses on my previous thread.
To further this - and hopefully help to narrow things down further for us - I wanted to ask specifically how any Evies do you know? If you’re happy to share your region (north, south etc) that would be great.
Thanks so much to those who already answered this as part of my previous thread!

Thanks in advance!

Just 1 (north east). But I feel like it blends in with the Ava, Edie type names and in total I know loads of them.

I agree with this, it feels like it's everywhere as it blends in with lots of other popular names, Evies, Edies, Eves, Ellas, Evas, Ava, Ellies.

OP if you're worried about the popularity of the name then I wouldn't use it. Hoping it's used more in other areas doesn't mean your child won't be in a class with others. It's been a popular name for years, and it's unlikely this is going to change.

1930toEdinburgh · 13/04/2023 08:59

Surely if the name is right for you it's right and numbers won't help !?

Of course it's a popular name in the very popular genre of twee little girl names. There are loads like it too as mentioned.

I'd suggest you are on the fence if you are asking this question so I'd be thinking again.

I know four. One short for Evette who is almost 60, two in year 6 and one who is almost four. East Mids area.
I think it’s a lovely name.

Changeau · 13/04/2023 09:00

Eve is far nicer IMO.

SpringIntoChaos · 13/04/2023 09:00

Oh blimey...many!! No adults though, all children. I have two in my class this year and had two last year also. I'm in East Midlands, but I also know many in other regions...my daughter is also a teacher in Norfolk and has two in her class, and two friends also with children called Evie. One of those is Evelyn but gets called Evie and one is just Evie.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/04/2023 09:01

I know one, who is Evelyn but gets called Evie half the time. We're in Central Scotand.

rkhumo · 13/04/2023 09:04

We have an Evelyn, known as Evie. We are in the South East, and we don't know any other Evelyn's/Evie's!

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/04/2023 09:06

2, in London

EyesOnThePies · 13/04/2023 09:33

2 both 21. I know a lot of 21 year olds.

Keha · 13/04/2023 09:34

North east. I know of one, she's a teenager. I do know quite a few with similar sound eg Ivy, Ava, Edie. Not good friends, friends of friends, nursery etc.

Frlrlrubert · 13/04/2023 09:35

3 age 6
1 age 8
1 about 75

SallyWD · 13/04/2023 09:36

2, both aged about 13

SallyWD · 13/04/2023 09:37

I prefer Eve with Evie as a nickname. Evie sounds a bit cutesy to me.

Mutabiliss · 13/04/2023 09:37

Two in my four year old son's class, plus a ton of similar names - Evie, Eva, Evelyn, Ava, Ada. They're all the same and I find it hard to remember who is who.

No adults. I know one Eva, that's all. Mid-Essex.

Kindledino · 13/04/2023 09:40

2 Evelyns, 3 Everlys, 1 Everley, 4 just Evie on it's own. Plus other Eva, Ava and assorted spellings. South East.

  1. Yorkshire. She’s 15.
HollyandJingles · 13/04/2023 09:48

I have 24 Brownies and at the moment there are 3 Evies, 4 Evas, 3 Avas and an Evelyn! They’re all aged between 7 and 10. We’re in Gloucestershire, its a hugely popular name here.

elevenplusdilemma · 13/04/2023 09:51

Loads (ages 6-16 ish). I don't know many younger kids so maybe there are more of this age range also.

MrsRickAstley · 13/04/2023 09:54

Midlands.

3x Evie
3x Eva
1x Ava

PMAalltheway · 13/04/2023 09:56

I know one (lovely) teenager Evie - West Yorkshire

Limetart · 13/04/2023 09:56

1 teen Yorkshire

LeafHunter · 13/04/2023 09:57

Midlands.

i Know too many to count. Mostly they are aged 8-16, I can only think of 3 who are under 8.

MuffinToSeeHere · 13/04/2023 10:00

I know absolutely loads due to working acroy many schools but I also agree with previous posters it feels like there are even more of them because it blends in with all the other names like Eva, Ava, Edie, Ellie and Amelie etc.

Either way it's an incredibly popular name and if it being popular bothers you already then I'd avoid using it or similar sounding names entirely.

Sandysandwich · 13/04/2023 10:03

1 Evie, she would be about 25 now
There are none in DCs schools, but there is one Evangeline who goes by Evan. South

ThisIsTrifficult · 13/04/2023 10:04

I have an almost 4yo Evie, but that's not her full name, just a shortening of her very long given name!
I'm south east.
