Love the typo!

Andbenjenwashisnameo · 12/04/2023 21:30

Calculon

Mumofgirls2017 · 12/04/2023 22:02

I am really not a fan of Hamish sorry, but don’t really have a good reason why. Tobias is ok but can’t stand Toby. Silas is nice. I’d pick that.

samsmum2 · 12/04/2023 22:03

Love them all, particularly Hamish & Toby (which Tobias will inevitably be shortened to).

miniaturepixieonacid · 12/04/2023 23:14

Hamish to me is a dog but I don't think I know any dogs called Hamish so I don't know why I feel that.

Tobias I like but I much prefer Toby - either as a nn or a standalone.

I don't like Silas. It makes me think slimy and sly.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 13/04/2023 06:24

Hamish is brilliant.

Tobias is…ok. Don’t like Toby.

For some reason I really don’t like Silas - it makes me think of someone mean and deceptive, which I know sounds strange!

Magnoliasky · 13/04/2023 06:35

I like Tobias and Hamish. There’s also Rory

DustyLee123 · 13/04/2023 06:37

Prefer Toby to Tobias.
Hamish I like, but I’d only use if the family were Scottish.
‘And Silas is too like silage for me, so no.

mischlerischler · 13/04/2023 06:37

I like Tobias, but not Toby.

TenThousandSpoons · 13/04/2023 09:39

Hamish - good strong name. Would assume Scottish family.

Tobias - ok. Might get called Tobes though.

Silas - don’t like sorry. Sounds like a baddie.

EyesOnThePies · 13/04/2023 09:46

Great names.

I would only use Hamish if we were Scottish.

Do you like Josiah?

Howmanysleepsnow · 13/04/2023 10:02

Silas sounds like silage to me, so that’s a no.
I once knew a horse called Hamish. He was slow and steady, so that’s my association and I can’t get far enough past it to form a sensible opinion.
Tobias is ok-ish at best, a bit pretentious at worst.

Cadburyscreamegg · 13/04/2023 10:05

I know a Tobias shortened to Bias if you don't like Toby.

NBLarsen · 13/04/2023 10:06

Hamish - lovely.

Tobias - ok, but honestly I see it as a "posh boy" version of Toby.

Silas - just makes me think of silage.

SallyWD · 13/04/2023 10:07

Hamish is my favourite

shadowchancesassy · 13/04/2023 10:08

Love Tobias. Don't like the others

pictoosh · 13/04/2023 10:09

Hamish - love.
Tobias - no, annoying name somehow.
Silas - sounds like silage and growing up around a farming community, that's a word I heard a lot so I make an association. Does not apply to you of course.

pancakesandpepsi · 13/04/2023 10:21

Hamish! Like Toby but not Tobias

Zola1 · 13/04/2023 10:23

I just...don't like any of them.
Silas makes me think of piles.
Tobias feels contrived
Hamish is like a joke name, something you'd call a pet as something a bit funny. My family are Scottish but I still don't like the name

LulooLemon · 13/04/2023 10:26

I like them all. Probably Tobias the most.

wetpebbles · 13/04/2023 10:27

Silage

ClaudiaCustard · 13/04/2023 11:00

I really don't like any of these names, sorry. No real redeeming features for any of them

emmathedilemma · 13/04/2023 12:16

Hamish is awesome.
Tobias is bearable
Silas is awful

RosaSkye · 13/04/2023 12:52

I like Hamish & Tobias, don’t like Silas really tbh

ThomasinaLivesHere · 13/04/2023 13:01

I thought from the typo that you’d got AI to create names 😂 I was curious to see them.

We have different styles so I’m afraid I dislike them all.

I’m Scottish but I’ve never met a Hamish. I do know pets called it. I do agree with the other poster who said it’s a joke name. That’s how I feel about it. Probably doesn’t help that any Hamish in fiction I’ve come across is usually a bit silly.
