Do you know of any baby / children Claudia’s? I don’t personally and love the name but someone did say it’s quite an older person name ….. so just wondering really

I don’t know any of any ages. I think it’s nice and I don’t think it’s ever been popular enough in the uk to be associated with a specific generation. If the meaning of a name matters to you then it’s not the best but it’s a nice sounding name.

My DD is Claudia
I'm absurdly proud that she loves her name

Same 🙂 she's 21. She didn't like it for a while when younger, now loves it and so do I still

cocksstrideintheevening · 13/04/2023 13:07

Yes two, both 11 one is French and pronounced it Clowdia the second English and is Clawdia

wrappedupinablanket · 13/04/2023 13:14

I know Polish and Romanian Claudias- all pronounced Cloud-ia. Lovely name!

Leafblow · 13/04/2023 14:48

2 who would be 23 now and an eight year old

FangedFrisbee · 13/04/2023 14:49

I do, she's 1 and gorgeous

reelcat · 13/04/2023 17:59

No but it's a lovely name!

CruCru · 14/04/2023 16:14

My daughter is called Claudia and she loves her name. I know of one other girl (a bit younger) who is also called Claudia.

JANetChick · 14/04/2023 20:07

I worked in Germany so knew lots. I don’t know any in the UK. I prefer the English language pronunciation (Clorrrd rather than the German Cloud) though. A stylish name.

KirstenBlest · 14/04/2023 20:15

Does anyone here say it as Clorrrdia? Confused

SallyWD · 14/04/2023 20:25

I know only one, who's 12

Yes. "Clord"/"Clawed" sounds the same to me? I'm guessing the poster emphasised the "r's" to differentiate from "Cloud"🤔

Beautiful name, top of my list if I'd had a girl- can never understand why it's so underused in this country. Never met any UK ones in RL (I fell in love with the name as a kid from the novel IWAV, even though that Claudia didn't have a happy ending).

Winkleman

I knew a Claudia. 50 years ago at primary school. The boys used to call her Clumpy Claudia which wasn't nice.

ladydimitrescu · 15/04/2023 00:49

Absolutely love it

ComputerWifeKaren · 15/04/2023 00:49

I knew of some with that name spelling but pronounced CLOUD-ia. Nickname Cloudy. Much preferred that to the original.

ourflagmeansdeath · 16/04/2023 13:32

Yes she's about 13 I'd say and it suits her really nicely.

Bagofweasels · 16/04/2023 13:34

I know a baby one, it’s a beautiful name 🙂

SmartHome · 16/04/2023 13:36

My DC had one in their class, they're 22 now/year 7.

jackstini · 16/04/2023 13:37

3, one 30s - Spanish, 1 40s - Italian, 1 late 50s - German

All pronounced 'cloudier' rather than 'claw-Dias'

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 16/04/2023 13:39

I know one, now early 20s. I absolutely love it and would have used it for DD but it doesn’t go with our surname at all.

Ellsxox · 16/04/2023 16:12

I know of a few but they are teenagers/adults. The youngest Claudia I know is 16.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 16/04/2023 22:32

Yes a 7 year old Cloud ia

Yes, I have and it is a fine name, quite classy. She will be called 'Claude' by her friends but that's OK, nicknames and diminutives are nice and friendly in my opinion. I have a one syllable name and always wished I'd had something that could be shortened.

A German friend of mine had a niece called 'Claudia', pronounced 'Clowdia' in Germany, and she was a lovely young woman.

Foxesandsquirrels · 20/08/2023 14:28

Yup very common in the polish community
