I have one and she's 9. You don't come across many that's for sure. I agree with the the previous poster who said that the meaning keeps it from becoming an overly popular name - at least that's my theory. In the last ten years or so there is only ever been around 150-200 Claudia's named per year in the UK.

Michellebops · 12/04/2023 22:33

Yes, she's 8
It's a beautiful name

tiredpuppymum · 12/04/2023 22:34

Yes, one in her 30's and one 10 year old! I love it.

halfshutknife · 12/04/2023 22:40

A 3 year old. Beautiful name!

fireplacetiles · 12/04/2023 22:41

Yeah my cat!

UsingChangeofName · 12/04/2023 22:58

I know two, both in their Nursery year, so 3 or 4 years old.

LemonDrizzle32 · 12/04/2023 23:10

Nkni don't know any but love it! Don't think I've ever heard it as a name suggestion for a baby before either so very unique. Really love it. ❤️

PrincessesRUs · 12/04/2023 23:12

My 5 year old - I get lots of compliments on the name. I obviously love it!

fairycupcakes · 12/04/2023 23:17

I know one in her very early 20s - Pronounced the clawd-ia way. It’s a beautiful name and she’s a beautiful girl but the name meaning, as a PP has mentioned, really puts me off and is likely the reason it’s never been overly popular.

SneezyEvie · 12/04/2023 23:22

Yes, one in her fifties and one aged 6. Heard one whilst on holiday last year and her mum was shouting ‘Clawdie’ in a frightfully posh accent.

tobee · 13/04/2023 01:12

My 27 year old!
Claw here not Clow !

A woman in her late 60s who is just as elegant, kind and fabulous as you would imagine a Claudia to be. I think it’s a beautiful name. I also like Camille, Camilla and Cosima which all have a similar vibe to me.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 13/04/2023 01:24

One of my twin girls is named Claudia . Her granddad ( husbands dad) calls her Miss Claudie ( from an old song )

MrsAvocet · 13/04/2023 01:28

My DD had a schoolfriend called Claudia. She'll be mid 20s now. I wouldn't have thought it was a particularly unusual name, but now I come to think of it, I have never met another. I like it.

CurlewKate · 13/04/2023 05:36

78 baby Claudias in the UK in 2021. A tiny increase in a steady decline in popularity since 1996.

maddy68 · 13/04/2023 10:37

I do but u don't live in the uk and it's fairly common here. It's lovely and every Claudia I know is delightful

purplecorkheart · 13/04/2023 10:39

One who is now around 4. Her Grandmother is also called Claudia. I think it is a lovely name.

allevansam · 13/04/2023 10:43

I know a cat called Clawdia.

Toddler DD was nearly Claudia. As in.. it took three days to choose between Claudia and her name.

She is Allegra, instead.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 13/04/2023 10:43

It used to be popular in Germany.

GreenHorses · 13/04/2023 10:49

One in her 50s, Italian heritage and pronounced it Cloudia. One teenager.

Dassams · 13/04/2023 10:49

About 50 years ago - it's now considered a very unfashionable name in Germany.

namechanged221 · 13/04/2023 10:51

Yes, I taught a Claudia in my year 3 class last year. Lovely name.

emmathedilemma · 13/04/2023 12:17

No, the only one I've known was a school so now mid 40's. She was a bitch so it's someone put me off the name.

AlltheFs · 13/04/2023 12:21

Yes a few. One is 40’s, one is 30’s and one is late primary school age.
