Cassia or Willow

She will be here in a matter of days and we just can’t decide her name!

Our two options are:

Cassia Rose

Willow Hazel

(Cassia is pronounced “Cassy-ah”)

Send help! Thank you!

Prefer Cassia Rose. Not so keen on two tree names together although both are ok on their own.

Winterisalmostover · 06/04/2023 23:44

I prefer Cassia Hazel. Rose is overdone as a second name.

FizzyWineAndCrisps · 06/04/2023 23:46

I like a different combination - Cassia Willow

Aylestone · 06/04/2023 23:53

I like Willow and hazel, but not together. Don’t like rose, and my heads not getting around ‘Cassia’ as it doesn’t sound like a name to me. My brains changing it to Casio as in the cheap watch brand.

WimbleOfWombledon · 07/04/2023 00:02

Cassia Rose

Don't like willow and hazel together, too 'tree' and 'twig' like! 😁

PickledScrump · 07/04/2023 00:10

Cassia Willow sounds best.

crouchingpheasant · 07/04/2023 00:16

Cassia Willow sounds lovely

pinkpanther84 · 07/04/2023 00:33

Agree Cassia Willow is lovely

Enko · 07/04/2023 00:38

Cassia is lovely

FatGirlSwim · 07/04/2023 00:43

Cassia and Willow are both lovely, elegant names. I also love Hazel.

Like others, I wouldn’t put the two tree names together and wouldn’t put either with Rose as another plant name, so Cassia Willow, Cassia Hazel or Cassia Rose.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 07/04/2023 01:08

Cassia is lovely

SerafinasGoose · 07/04/2023 01:16

Cassia, with any combination of the others except Willow.

Those three are all fine, classic names. Comes down to individual taste, but I personally dislike Willow and don't think it will date well.

user1492757084 · 07/04/2023 01:33

I like Cassia. An old Greek name from a cinnamon spice.

user1492757084 · 07/04/2023 01:35

Cassia Rose 10/10

MyOtherUsernameIsDave · 07/04/2023 08:37

Cassia, only because Willow is so popular.

Not keen on Rose as a middle name as it’s quite literally every girl’s middle name with Grace/May. So overused.

averythinline · 07/04/2023 09:17

Willow is lovely prefer it to Cassia as not so keen on cassy as a nn ..Rose is a popular middle name but sounds great with Willow..although I like it as a first name too

knew a lovely Hazel but dont think it works as well in the middle so would def go for Willow Rose ...or maybe Hazel Rose..

with only a few names in the mix which are all good I would wait til you meet her .... ..

Mrsjayy · 07/04/2023 09:20

Cassia Rose is lovely Willow Hazel Is a bit too "earthy" imo, I love Hazel as a first name though.

mebutnotmeanymore · 07/04/2023 09:27

I have a Summer Rose and a Willow Violet. I personally like the flower/seasonal names together. It's whatever you like though, everyone will like something different don't let others persuade you.

FlounderingFruitcake · 07/04/2023 09:30

Definitely Cassia Rose. Willow and Hazel are too much tree when you put them together, I’d think you were both arborists.

chillih · 07/04/2023 09:31

Cassia is lovely!

Disneyforaweek · 07/04/2023 09:34

Cassia! I love the name Willow as well but Cassia is one of my favourites

fakeit2makeit · 07/04/2023 12:36

Thanks everyone!

Appreciate all your opinions. I think we’ve now got to decide between Cassia Rose and Cassia Willow.

Hilariously Cassia is also a plant based name as it’s Greek for cinnamon.. I didn’t realise we were so obsessed with trees 😂

I’m not bothered about the association though, I don’t really want to overthink the meanings and would prefer to concentrate on the flow / sound.

Maybe we should wait until she’s here to decide. Our first daughter has dark brown eyes and brown hair, so I feel like Willow would fit better than Rose in that case.

I still hate the indecision though!

Thanks for everyone’s input!

Cassia Willow to be a little different if that matters but I do like Cassia Rose. I thought Cassia was a tree though, as I've heard of Cassia Bark. Does cinnamon grow on trees??

Viviennemary · 07/04/2023 12:55

I prefer Willow to Cassia but Cassia is ok. But much prefer Hazel over these. What about Hazel Rose.

Rauha · 07/04/2023 12:59

I prefer Willow
