Neve is a perfectly acceptable spelling, it’s lovely and it’s phonetically coherent

but am never quite sure how it should be pronounced. The ones I know it’s basically like Amelia. But it looks to me like it should be eh-millia (as opposed to eh-meelia)

It seems off to take an Irish name that is spelt phonetically and then bastardise that spelling.

Yes of course it is! The Irish spelling is beautiful, I just think Neve is too and the two can co exist

My point is that it’s not a made up name that’s going to require lots of clarification, most people reading Neve would pronounce it correctly
