Having a hard time deciding babygirl's name still...

Neither. Eden's a bit too of the moment and naturey, and will be Edie when Evie is massively popular. Ella and Ellie have been very popular for decades.

Edens beautiful. Ella is nice but very plain and common

HippeePrincess · 31/03/2023 10:02

I prefer Eden, there’sless of them. I don’t think they’re “of the moment”, I do know of one Eden and she’s early teens. There’s thousands of Ella’s!

DuchessOfSausage · 31/03/2023 10:19

@HippeePrincess , I think it fits in with the flower names and names like Willow and Ivy names, and disappears into all the Evie, Ava, Eva type names.

PacificallyRequested · 31/03/2023 10:22

Ella. Eden is awful.

DuchessOfSausage · 31/03/2023 10:27

@PacificallyRequested , that's my thought too. Smile

NBLarsen · 31/03/2023 10:44

Eden is a beautiful name! I do love Ella too, it's so pretty, but it's also everywhere, it's the nickname for so many other names too, which puts me off a bit. I would choose Eden.

MinorMeltdown · 31/03/2023 10:48

I only know a boy Eden, lovely name though

shoopshoopdedoo · 31/03/2023 10:51

Ella. I’m not keen on Eden

MyOtherUsernameIsDave · 31/03/2023 12:52

Eden. There are so many Ella’s and I find it a bit dull.

There are so many Ella-Rose/Grace/Mays.

Ella by far.

Do you like Ellen?

Persipan · 01/04/2023 04:54

I think Eden is great. Not as keen on Ella.

Entirely predictably - you can already see it in what's a relatively short thread so far - you're going to get the people who gravitate towards more unusual names going for Eden, and those who prefer more traditional names suggesting Ella. (And then at some point someone will come along clutching their pearls about how you can't possibly call a child Eden as she'll get bullied... 🙄). And none of this is likely to change the fact that you're feeling uncertain between the two, so clearly see things in both names that you like. If neither is really standing out and you like them equally, perhaps there's something else out there that you'd like even more?

Theoldwoman · 01/04/2023 06:12

Ella one hundred percent.

I have one and she’s an adult now and loves her name.

Named after Ella Fitzgerald.

Theoldwoman · 01/04/2023 06:14

Oh and I only know of boys called Eden, I’m not a fan of unisex names at all.

Gotafaceon · 01/04/2023 06:19

Ella is beautiful.
Eden is quite nice too.

HAF1119 · 01/04/2023 06:35

I love Eden :)

RoseAndRose · 01/04/2023 06:46

Eden is traditionally a boys name. I think it's weird on girls

crystabel · 01/04/2023 07:04

Well my 13 year old daughter is Eden and it's lovely on her, def not weird! She gets lots of compliments about it and has never met another Eden.. Ellie/ Ella etc.. are lovely names but obviously a lot more about. I like the fact it's different and pretty but not 'out there' different. She has 100% never been bullied for it. Good luck choosing x

LizzieBet14 · 01/04/2023 07:25

Ella.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/04/2023 09:12

Eden

HuggingtheHRT · 01/04/2023 11:23

Not keen on either of them. Eden will date badly and Ella is everywhere at the moment...

Auntpodder · 01/04/2023 11:26

I know a lovely Welsh Ela (I think three letter names are very striking)

HappyValet · 01/04/2023 11:28

I love Eden, have loved it for 20 years so not sure it's of the moment!

I know it is traditionally a boy's name but it sounds very feminine to me.

Kensukesfifedom · 01/04/2023 11:28

Eden! I only know one 20 year old Eden whereas I can hardly move for Ellie/Ellen/Ella's

Kensukesfifedom · 01/04/2023 11:30

The Eden I know is a girl btw
