That's lovely reminds me of the flowers .

Coffeellama · 05/03/2023 08:12

It’s just a niceish incredibly common baby name.

daisypond · 05/03/2023 08:14

No. Not two flowers names.

AlwaysGinPlease · 05/03/2023 08:15

Tacky... sorry

tulipsunday · 05/03/2023 08:16

Lily is nice but wouldn't go for the two flowers together

PauliString · 05/03/2023 08:17

It says ‘family at One End Street’ to me, but that’s quite an old children’s book and I doubt you’ll spark that memory in many people.

(Their child was named after a misunderstanding about the painting called ‘Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose’, if I remember right.)

Bubblemachiene · 05/03/2023 08:22

Ye I was thinking tacky might come to mind. I didn't really like double barrel either but my oh loves lily but I'm not sure on it so was thinking of alternatives and lily rose came to mind.
I chose are other 2 names so really wanted to let him choose

Nice and inoffensive. A bit boring. If you were insisting on her being known as Lily Rose day to day I’d think you were being a bit pretentious or trying too hard to be unique when in fact the whole two first names things is overused and tacky. As a teacher almost every other little girl in some schools are Isla-May or Ava-Rose etc.

It’s not double barrelled, is it? Did you not mean first name and middle name? So her name would be just Lily?

daisypond · 05/03/2023 08:27

You could turn it round and get Rosalie - almost. Or Liliana if you want it the other way.

mymeatballsmymeatballs · 05/03/2023 08:28

I love it, I've wanted to use it for my future daughter since I was 16😅I think it's quite common to use them together but I think they go well together. Johnny Depp's daughter is Lily Rose and maybe Lily Allen too.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 05/03/2023 08:32

Lily is reasonable. Rose is every other girl's middle name, so indescribably boring. I don't like 2 nouns for names either. How about Lily Tamsin? Or something else that's original?

tocas · 05/03/2023 08:35

Bit wet

itsgettingweird · 05/03/2023 08:36

I like it.

Other names for Lily

Lily Grace
Lily Beth
Lily Anne
Lily Elizabeth
Lily Jane
Lily Ruth
Lily Fern
Lily willow

Some follow the plant theme and some corporate very traditional names.

I wouldn't double barrel though personally.

Coffeellama · 05/03/2023 08:37

Lily Willow sound horrible and said fast you’d get Willy Lillow, please don’t pick that one!

Oneofakind1 · 05/03/2023 08:38

It’s lovely but very popular.

SallyWD · 05/03/2023 08:57

I love it as they're 2 of my favourite names. I think it's fairly well used though.

fajitaaaa · 05/03/2023 08:58

Awful

Flowers

Lily Willow? You’ve got to be joking?

SpringIntoChaos · 05/03/2023 10:19

It's the current equivalent of the old 'Sara Louise'. Incredibly popular, and inoffensive to the point of boring. Nothing inherently wrong with either name...but oh so dull 😩

DuchessOfSausage · 05/03/2023 10:23

Every other Lily will be Lily Rose too.
Two flower names together not great

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 05/03/2023 10:32

Lily yes. Rose yes. Lily Rose no.

Rose is beautiful as a first name but very frequently used as a middle name.

What about Rosalie or Rosaline? For the L sound?

I prefer Rose to Lily as I know a few Lilies who get shortened to 'Lil' which I think is a horrible sound!

Snoopystick · 05/03/2023 10:34

Rosalie or Livi instead?

shoopshoopdedoo · 05/03/2023 11:48

I like both individually, especially Rose. I think it also works as a first and middle name as middle names are rarely used, but wouldn’t use both together as a first name.

ourflagmeansdeath · 05/03/2023 13:28

I like them on their own. Together, they are so so popular and well-known now - think Lily-Rose Depp, and I know 3 other Lily Rose's in real life. I think if you did it as first name and middle name it'd be fine, wouldn't be much of an issue but both as first names would be very plain.
