Thoughts on the name Orton for a boy

Hello!
my partner and I have been pondering over the first name Orton for a boy. I’ve only ever heard it as a last name, and we prefer it to the similar sounding Orson, which is too much like Awesome for us. The only reason I’m not sure is because I’ve never heard or seen it as a first name anywhere, so I’m not sure if people will ‘get’ it or it’s too far left, so really interested to hear your honest thoughts. Does it sound nice or a bit too weird? Thanks!

How about a slight change to Morten?

Morten is great
Rory is a great name on its own, I know of two professionally who are both lovely men.

Alternatively consider Lior which means “my light”.

Sounds like a medication. Got an itch? You need Orton.

I would think immediately of Joe Orton, who was viciously murdered by his partner. 😬

Do you like Morton, Thornton or Torben?
