Silver

Just finished watching Ginny and Georgia and the name Silver has stuck with me. I'm not one for 'out there' names so I wonder if this is too out there for me. I also recall there being another character called Silver on a different tv show years ago but cannot for the life of me remember which one. Google is no help. Does anyone remember? And what are thoughts on Silver? My DD2 is Eden

Silver was a character in 90210. Her full name was Erin Silver though. She was a bit of a quirky sort and went by Silver.

Hmm, I like more unusual names but I'm really not sure I could name a child Silver.
I love Eden though but I'm not sure that Silver really 'goes' with it.

It just makes me think of the Lone Ranger's horse.

In other words great for an equine. Awful for a human.

I'm 38. They used to show reruns of it on Channel 4 in the '90s. And then there was the film version in 2013. I think it sounds like the sort of name you'd give to a horse even if you aren't familiar with the show.

I like it but it is the name of one my cats (Silver Mouse Rocket Sphynx) , he's a great cat though 😄

I have zero reference points for this as a name, I just don't really like it? But I don't think it's because it's out there, it's just not nice sounding to me.

My granny had a yappy miniature poodle called Silver. So for that reason alone its no from me.

I like it. It's Arian in Welsh or Eirian has a similar meaning if you wanted to keep the meaning but not have to deal with the eyerolls.

I am sure there was a character in an old Jackie Collins novel called Silver. She was the star of a daytime soap opera and a bit of a silver vixen if I remember correctly.

Yes 90210! It's funny because if I saw someone else post it on here I would immediately think no. But when I've heard it spoken on tv shows it doesn't sound bizarre or outrageous, just like a slightly unusual but normal name. It would be for a girl but I don't know what I'm having yet and I've only just started thinking about it so it's going on the list for now.

Sylvie or Sylvia for a girl, Sylvester for a boy.

I don’t see it as a name. Like previous poster said for similar sounds you could have names like Sylvie
