Ariadne is this one a typo?

RunningFromInsanity · 29/01/2023 18:39

I only like Rosa and Matilda.
I love Thea, but not Theadora.

It was a genuine question you jackass, I’ve never heard that name before! Thought it might be a typo for adriane. Don’t bother answering that though, just insult instead!

schoolsoutforever · 29/01/2023 18:44

I particularly like Rosa and Isidora. I like Flora, Claudia and Valentina. I don’t dislike any of them.

BridieConvert · 29/01/2023 18:47

How do you pronounce Ariadne?

I love Rosa and Merryn is lovely.
Not a fan of any others, sorry!

Kanaloa · 29/01/2023 18:51

Ariadne - 5/10 I think it’s lovely but you’d get a lot of confusion/having to repeat it constantly
Rosa - 5/10 nice, lots of Rosies around nowadays
Edith - 5/10 nice but not special
Isidora - 2/10. I love Isabelle and Isabella and like Isadora but I think Isidora just looks wrong
Matilda - 7/10 nice but very popular
Flora - 2/10 nice, I do like it, but I’d probably go with Florence instead due to the margarine
Claudia - 2/10 I don’t know why, I just don’t like it
Therese - 5/10 nice enough, prefer Teresa
Merryn - 2/10 I don’t like it
Theodora - 9/10 really beautiful
Valentina - 9/10 also really nice

Rosa
Edith
Isidora
Matilda
Flora
Claudia
Therese
Merryn
Theodora
Valentina

I wanted Valentina for girl or Valentine for a boy. Love them!

DramaAlpaca · 29/01/2023 18:59

I think Isidora is usually spelled Isadora.

I'd lose Isidora and Theodora because I dislike the diminutive Dora.

I'd lose Therese as I find it very old fashioned and not in a good way.

I'd only use Ariadne if there was Greek heritage, but it is a beautiful name.

The rest are all fine.

toastofthetown · 29/01/2023 19:05

Ariadne - 8, really like it, but worry it might get lumped in with Arabella and Ariana
Rosa - 5, fine but a little dull
Edith - 1, maybe swayed as the Edith I know best is awful bit also don't like the -th ending
Isidora - 7, I love Isadora (which would have scored 9), but still nice. Could blend into the sea of Isabel(le)s and Isabellas though
Matilda - 4, has been hugely popular recently and is starting to come down from that and feels tired and overdone as a result
Flora - 6, quite nice
Claudia - 10, love Claudia, not too overused but still familiar, works internationally
Therese - 3, just don't like the sound
Merryn - 3, clunky sounding
Theodora - 5, Theo(dore) is so overdone for boys I really don't see the need to pile into the popularity on the girls side too. I prefer Dorothea (or maybe I just love Taylor Swift)
Valentina -10, I love Valentina but don't like any of the nicknames so would rules it out for me on that basis. Still a beautiful name though

kitsuneghost · 29/01/2023 19:06

DestinysGrandchild · 29/01/2023 19:06

HiImTheProblemItsMe · 29/01/2023 19:19

Ariadne - lovely! 9/10.
Rosa - I like it BUT I think I prefer the classic Rose. 7/10.
Edith - I don't like this name, sorry. 3/10.
Isidora - I considered Isadora for a girl. Like it! 8/10.
Matilda - love love love 10/10.
Flora - really like! 9/10.
Claudia - I always think this name sounds very elegant. 9/10.
Therese - no, dislike 1/10.
Theodora - I think I prefer Thea but it's ok. 6/10.
Valentina - ooh. Nice. Only thing is, I'd hate for it to be shortened to Val. So 6/10.

custardbear · 29/01/2023 19:21
