I like it. Strong and elegant. I prefer Caro to Carrie.

Caro not so much. It went through a stage of being a posh Midsomer Murders character name 😆 although maybe only about two episodes. It's a bit like Juno, I don't like the 'o' ending.

What about Carlotta? I feel that is less dated but also has some lovely nicknames - Carla, Callie, cara. Caro As we all as lotta, lottie etc

Carrie will be shortened to Caz too, whether you like it or not.

Caroline's a lovely name. Classic and elegant. I know two who are always called their full name, one Carrie, a Caro and a Carrie-Anne.
