I don’t know if we’re having a boy or girl but if it’s a girl I am due in July so it fits … any thoughts?

Wondering if it’s too ‘young’ and conjures images of a young girl dreamy on the balcony in Verona.

😁 think you might have pregnancy brain... it's a lovely classic name, don't think it conjures up anything in particular, just a very pleasant girls name not overused and nice and solid

SmileWithADimple · 20/01/2023 20:54

I really like Juliet.

oxymomon · 20/01/2023 20:54

How old was Juliette in R&J? About 16 or 17? It's not like it's a babyish name.
I actually think it's a really beautiful name. But ultimately, you should choose a name you love! Congratulations!

BanoffeeBoat · 20/01/2023 20:56

I love it. I wanted it for DD, but spelt Juliette. Unfortunately DH wasn't having any of it but I still think it's a beautiful, elegant name. The only Juliet I know is in her 60s and is wonderful - warm and wise and classy and gracious. Definitely not a airheaded dreamy teenager

3peassuit · 20/01/2023 20:58

Juliet is timeless and lovely.

Hopefulbride18 · 20/01/2023 20:59

I have a Juliet - I chose it because I thought it was nice at any age! I think it will have quite romantic and flowery connotations because of Romeo and Juliet but hopefully that's not a bad thing.

JoyPeaceHealth · 20/01/2023 21:01

I love it!

VastQuantities · 20/01/2023 21:06

It is a beautiful name.

grafittiartist · 20/01/2023 21:07

Gorgeous

LaurelsCurious · 20/01/2023 21:13

Absolutely beautiful name

LulooLemon · 20/01/2023 21:17

Love this name

LulooLemon · 20/01/2023 21:19

Just remember it will be pronounced different ways:

Some will say JU-liet, others Juli-ET.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 20/01/2023 21:27

Gorgeous name, wish I could use it -and this Juliet spelling is the nicest/most classic I think. I see it as elegant looking/sounding rather than "young" (despite the age of the Romeo and Juliet characters) .Maybe it is slightly romantic feeling, but why is that a bad thing? Hasn't stopped the popularity of Lara (as in Dr Zhivago).

20viona · 20/01/2023 21:29

Lovely but I prefer Juliette

Thirteen. It’s a couple of weeks before her fourteenth birthday. “She hath not seen the change of fourteen years.”

Not that this should put you off! It’s a beautiful name.

RandomCatGenerator · 20/01/2023 21:32

Gorgeous name!

SirenSays · 20/01/2023 21:33

Beautiful name! We had one in our school who cringed the entire way through studying R&J though.

Luredbyapomegranate · 20/01/2023 21:33

It’s a nice name. Quite popular right now.

I slightly prefer Julia.

I think in the UK it is always the latter, and almost always even if you spell it Juliette

JulietteIRL · 20/01/2023 21:36

I see my name so rarely I just had to comment!

I found it hard at primary school, an 8 letter first name is difficult to learn to spell, and at secondary my headmistress (despite speaking fluent French) used to call me Julie-uht which used to honestly give me the rage, but I love love love it now and I've never met another! It also certainly helped when I lived in France for a while ☺️

Also - there are no nicknames other than Ju, Julie (no thanks) or Jules (managed that at times).

It's unusual, and for me, quite unique.

I might be a bit biased..!

RideMeStallion · 20/01/2023 21:37

It’s a beautiful name. She may have to be prepared for references to R&J throughout her life but just proves it’s a classic.

Gronkle · 20/01/2023 21:38

DD would've been Juliet if it didn't clash with our surname

JulietteIRL · 20/01/2023 21:39

Oh and the Romeo thing? Like I haven't heard that one before 🙄

Twoinapod · 20/01/2023 22:21

It’s really pretty and timeless

drspouse · 20/01/2023 22:23

I know a Juliet who's 11, it's a lovely name and not too common.
