Anyone else been surprised at what people in their lives have called their children?

Yeah my sisters best friend has just named her baby Cash. She has two girls with really traditional names (think Elizabeth, Charlotte kind of names) then Cash. I think it’s really bizarre

Should have at least gone with Penny!

Siblings at school, Rocky, Tinkerbell and Butterfree I did question if butterfree could be butterfly although odd not as odd as butterfree. There are more siblings unfortunately I don’t know their names

Lots of so called old lady names are very common in other cultures.

And while they may be fashionable now there are people in their teens and older with those names who are definitely not all middle class.

Yes, I’ve watched a few South American novelas and the names Vera and Hilda seem like totally acceptable names to give to glamorous non elderly characters 😯

I wouldn't be surprised if these names came back into fashion here before long, just as Amelia and Ruby and Archie and Arthur have.

That's just re-inventing the wheel, when we already have the perfectly good name of Marge Grin

Yes one of the children in the family has a ridiculous name, hes named after an item of clothing. I feel sorry for him as all the other kids in the family have normal names even his brother. When I've mentioned his name in passing to people always ask me to repeat the name.
