Maybe some of you are interested. German names seem to be popular now such as Otto, Ottilie, Anneliese or Heidi.

I have family there. Any surprises? This is the list, source www.beliebte-vornamen.de

This is interesting for me! We aren’t in Germany but we are living in a German speaking country so it’s important to us that we choose a name that won’t be confusing in English (we’re British) or German. The similarities in the top names makes it easier. DS1 is on there, still deciding on DS2 name!

Yes I love this too! All those ordinary modern names then . . . Paul. I understand Paul is also v popular in France.

(I have a primary aged Paul so this is close to my heart!)

My daughter's name is on the list and we don't have German heritage, it is a very international list.

This is really interesting, thanks for sharing. My thoughts were: most names seem to have an "international flavour" and also, what a lot of L names, for both girls and boys!
