I posted earlier about the name Lyle, and got some mixed opinions so have gone back to the drawing board and made a list of names we both like. Our son is named Adam. What’s your favourite off the list?

Lyle
Luke
Nathan
Emmett
Floyd
Linus
Saul

I was on your earlier thread. I still like Lyle from that list. I also really like Linus. Luke is a nice name too but a bit boring.

Emmett is probably my favourite, Nate?

Linus reminds me of sinus.. Floyd is just not nice I think.. Saul always reminds me of that cult guy from Home and Away years ago!

I do like Nate, but I think I prefer Nathan more.

I also can see why you’d think Luke is boring, but I suppose some would say that about Adam

I like Emmett. Very sophisticated

I think Emmett is probably in my top 3 of the list, but I worry about spelling issues

If you like Lyle, choose Lyle!

Why would a random group of internet users, who might have different tastes, affect your name choices?

I like Lyle. I also like Luke, Nathan and Linus.

I like Luke and Nathan best with Adam.

Emmett - don't like it other than as a surname
Floyd - don't know. Would think mixed race, but I only know one and he's caucasian

Thank you everyone, I think with feedback and after talking to DH I’ve narrowed it down to either Luke, Saul or Emmett.

Luke or Nathan. I think both go well with Adam. Although I still like Lyle.

Luke goes really well with Adam. Emmett is also a beautiful name, maybe you could go with Emmett Lyle.

I really like your taste in names. Saul/Sol is a family name in my family so Sol short for Solomon might appeal to you also.

I prefer Lyle or Luke. Prefer Nathaniel to Nathan.
I don't like the others especial Saul and Linus.

My favourites from the list are Emmet, Saul and Luke, in that order. I don't like the other names on the list but Emmet Lyle goes well together.

Thank you, I think we’re going with Luke as like Adam it’s biblical, recognisable but not many babies are called it right now.

Love Luke and Nathan, both great names that are well known but not over used.
