What is everyone’s thoughts on Suki. Would be our 4th daughter. It seems familiar but unusual at the same time. Other name we are considering us Willow so would be interested in people’s thoughts on both x

Also any other names that you think I’d like if I like Suki and Willow

Quirky, but not necessarily in a good way.

Cute on a kid, a little infantile for a grown woman

If you like Willow - Clover, Fern, River, Flora, Juniper, Aspen

Figgypudding123 · 25/12/2022 17:55

The only Suki's I know are both cats..

BuffaloCauliflower · 25/12/2022 17:56

Suki is lovely

FlutterbButterfly · 25/12/2022 18:03

Lovely, I have known a couple over the years (.I teach, not in conventional education and hcome across hundreds of pupils each year, so can still assure you it's unusual.

RuthW · 25/12/2022 18:06

Love Willow.

Suki is too much of a nickname, and a cat's name

mintdaisy · 25/12/2022 18:24

I don't love it. It mainly reminds me of the chef best friend in Gilmore Girls. Prefer Willow.

Berlinlover · 25/12/2022 18:27

I just think of Suki from EastEnders.

Stupidbonfire · 25/12/2022 18:28

I love it. I know a grown up Suki, and sure she’s quirky in a slightly hippy way. But she’s beautiful, and funny, and clever and wise. And she has a great name ☺️

Veganuaryborn · 25/12/2022 18:31

Suki put the kettle on

I've only ever known adults with the name and I think it's a great name. Never thought of it as "infantile" or "quirky".

Orphlids · 25/12/2022 20:00

Really love Suki. It has very cool vibes. I imagine a confident, intelligent woman who doesn’t take any nonsense. Maybe a bit rebellious. I think it’s quite a sexy name. I’d love to be called Suki. Established but unusual, a really great choice.

Luredbyapomegranate · 25/12/2022 20:07

great as a short form of Susannah, not on its own.

willow is a bit wet and will be unfortunate if she is not willowy

Bay
Briar
Sadie

Offensive and rude in some Slavic languages meaning a bitch/vagina. I'd avoid, sorry

Timide · 25/12/2022 20:11

Willow is beautiful!

thefiddlerselbow · 25/12/2022 20:11

I really like it.

ItsTrueLou · 25/12/2022 20:13

I had a guinea pig called Suki

DramaAlpaca · 25/12/2022 20:14

Suki is perfect for a small dog, one of those with a little bow between its ears.

RambamThankyouMam · 25/12/2022 20:14

Nicknamey.

I'm a Susannah and get Suki from some family members.

Suki put the kettle on

That's Polly
Suki takes it off again 🤣

I don't mind it, actually. I prefer it to Willow.

LorenzoVonMatterhorn · 25/12/2022 20:17

In 20 yrs ive never taught one. The only people i think of are sookie stackhouse from true blood and sookie st james from gilmore girls.

SayMyNameProperly · 25/12/2022 20:17

I really like it. I've known two. One who used it as a nickname for Susannah and the other was an Indian lady.

Sounds better as a nickname but maybe not as a full name?
