Not pregnant, just curious, what do you think the name Jordan for a girl?

Don't hate it, don't love it. I just think there are much better names to choose from (IMO).

custardbear · 18/12/2022 10:43

Katie price has ruined it but it's also dated. I'd choose Morgan if you wanted a similar name

PeekAtYou · 18/12/2022 10:43

I think Katie Price too

Coxspurplepippin · 18/12/2022 10:44

Wasn't it Katie Price's name from her glamour modelling days? Wouldn't want that association for a girl, sorry.

Metabigot · 18/12/2022 10:45

I've heard of Jordanna. That hasn't the KP association, any good?

The name is a bit dated. I don't love it or hate it.

TheOGCCL · 18/12/2022 10:45

Tacky

FurAndFeathers · 18/12/2022 11:08

Dated glamour model.
her peers probably won’t think the same though

NewtoHolland · 18/12/2022 11:10

Katie price/ Chavvy/ associations sorry.

toastofthetown · 18/12/2022 11:12

Jordan feels quite dated to me. Jordan is more the name of someone who I went to school with than her baby’s name to me.

RambamThankyouMam · 18/12/2022 11:33

I prefer Jordana.

DuchessOfSausage · 18/12/2022 14:23

Awful

DramaAlpaca · 18/12/2022 14:28

I don't like it for a girl.

diamondsarefornextweek · 18/12/2022 14:30

I only know one in person, she doesn't do much to dispel the Katie Price/more chavvy associations I'm afraid to say 😅

InFiveMins · 18/12/2022 14:31

I love it.

CaptainCastillo · 18/12/2022 14:32

Alright, what about Jordyn? Is It any better?

OP posts:
DuchessOfSausage · 18/12/2022 14:39

Jordyn is even more awful

CaptainCastillo · 18/12/2022 14:41

Great 😅 any variation from the name Jordan you like for a girl?

BTW I'm never gonna use the name on a child, someone recently told me that the name Jordan was gender neutral and I was like wait really I thought It was only for boys so It just got me wondering.

OP posts:
DuchessOfSausage · 18/12/2022 14:47

It's a surname and the name of a river. It got used as a boy's name then a page 3 girl used it as her stage name.

Athenen0ctua · 18/12/2022 14:48

Tacky. Almost any boys' name is 'gender neutral' these days, not so much the other way around..

RedBookYellowBook · 18/12/2022 21:50

Depends.

Jordan Dunn, the runway model carries it well. She is in a position where her image is highly curated via superb quality photos. An iconography of sorts. We gloss over the name in favour of the face and body which transcend it.

Someone in Poundland on a Wednesday afternoon, less so.
The other, more notorious Jordan has brought it down to a level many dislike but she has the more traditional, Katie to fall back on.

ShoveAHollySprigUpYourBum · 18/12/2022 22:27

Bono has a daughter called Jordan. I remember wondering if they were a bit put out when Katie Price's Jordan became the main tabloid figure of the 00's.

DurdleSnore · 19/12/2022 10:39

Not to my taste. I don’t mind a lot of unisex names like Blake and River however Jordan is too linked with Katie Price for me which sadly cheapens it.

Lost123454 · 19/12/2022 10:47

Chavvy

whattodo1975 · 19/12/2022 10:49

What about Katie instead ?

SBAM · 19/12/2022 10:56

I know of a Jordana and a Jordayne, both prettier for girls IMO than Jordan which to me is more masculine.
