Pruners, Vari is beautiful...although I used to think it was pronounced Ma-hairy, which paved the way for lots of silly surname jokes

I know a Scottish Mhairi, who comes from a Gaelic-speaking family, and they pronounce it "Maree", not with a V sound

How about Orcadian names: Vaila, Vida?

Mirin, or Mirren is a nice Scottish name for a girl. What about Skye? A variation of Shona is Shaunnagh, I am Scotish and Irish girls names are very popular here at the moment! Eilidh is actually Irish and means "Grace" same as Hannah a Scottish name. Can you tell I read all the baby name books!
