Favourite -elle name

I quite like -elle endings with girls names. Though not too keen on Elle or Ella alone. What’re your favourite ones? Do you think -elle names are dated?

Veganelle, Vasgielle, Chantelle (My name😍), Glorielle, Jim, and my personal favourite Bobelle

Gabrielle

Although I always think "Elle" names are better as "Ella" names. I really like Gabriella.

I think Danielle is nice and underused. I also like Arabelle but hearing it more often now.

Sadly I think French names are often seen as but naff and dated.

I like Gabrielle/a but that's about it.

I like Gabrielle and Mirabelle. Isabelle is nice too, think it was very popular a few years ago but not sure about now.

Arielle is nice too.

I like Mariella, Ariella and Gabrielle.

All make excellent stripper names too, so very versatile.

Isabelle is my favourite, but I also really like Danielle.

Gabrielle and Estelle are both pretty and classic without being too fussy (which is what puts me off a lot of similar names).

I actually really like Giselle but the sound of the first syllable would just invite bullying unfortunately...

Oh yes- forgot Isabelle which was my no. 1 girls name choice!!

Isobel or annabel, prefer those spellings. Also quite like Elle just on it's own.

And I like Elle too. Ds has a friend in nursery actually he has a Noelle and an Elle and I love it when he says their names.

I like Mariella and Arabella, not keen on Annabelle or Daniella / Danielle as they seem a bit dated

The only -Elle name I like is Mirabelle, though I wouldn’t use it now, after Encanto.

I don’t think they’re dated yet as whole group (though some examples like Danielle are) but -Elle/-Ella names are very popular now and will no doubt fall out of popularity and date eventually. Just like Pauline, Jacqueline et. al. sound dated as a group. Personally dating doesn’t worry me. Unless you are choosing a timeless/dull perennially popular name (like Edward or Elizabeth) I think a lot of names will date to a greater or lesser extent. Even classic names like Paul, Mark, or Margaret. Even if the name itself isn’t popular, if a name (like Eliana for example) fits in with current popular sounds, it will probably end up sounding like a child of 2010/2020.

Lulubelle. Actual name at my kids school.

my personal favourite is Jezebel. (Genuinely) love it, but it’s just not useable is it…

They seem to be 1970s names to me.
