Odd question I know but this stems from a discussion/debate I'm having with a friend.

It's interesting to see the similarities and differences between everyone's lists.

Not a single Tom/Thomas, Ben, Simon, Chris, Michael, Philip in my school year group (of around 100 boys, now aged 43).

I knew a Leighton! I’ve never met another one, though.

I’m 40, and whilst I’ve met plenty of the following, most of them are 50+

David
Richard
Simon
Stephen/Steven
Kevin

IME most Williams and Edwards are either over 50 or under 20.

Kattouswhiskers · 23/11/2022 05:46

The joke at work is they're all called James, and if not they're called Simon or Nick.

bluechameleon · 23/11/2022 06:16

Tom, Paul, Ed, Rob, Sam, Matt, Nick, Lake, Dave

SellFridges · 23/11/2022 06:33

Richard (four in my form!)
John (three in my form)
Ian
Lee
Rob (again, loads)
David
Ben (I can think of about eight in my year)
Chris
Matt

Then the odd Phil, James, Daniel and the more random Brett, Jordan, Lewis.

I’m amazed by those who have mentioned Oliver and Thomas. Absolutely none of those in my school - those names were basically used by the Richard’s, John’s and Ben’s to name their kids.

My son's age. He and school friends were called:
David
Nicholas
Paul
Mark
Benjamin
James
Jeremy
Michael

He and friends once had a snooker match - the Daves v the Nicks.
