What names would you expect a man in his early to mid 40s to have?

Odd question I know but this stems from a discussion/debate I'm having with a friend.

Depends on the exact point in their 40s - the older end are sometimes called Ian, Phil, Paul, Stuart, Dave, Chris, Jason etc.
Closer to my age (mid 30s) I'd expect more like Ben, Tom, James, Steven, Jonathan, Dan/iel, Ed, Matthew.
Scattering of Lees, Dales and Deans in among them. Maybe a Jordan or two.

At school and uni (I'm 41) they were all called Chris. Since then I've not met a single one. I wonder wht happened to the Chrisss. Have they a lower life expectancy, do you think?

Meanwhile, Steve, David, Ben, Tom, Marc are in abundance.
