As an Irish woman, I love it!!

stockpilingallthecheese · 24/10/2022 20:33

I love it and it's on my list but doesn't sound good with our surname Angry

Rauha · 24/10/2022 20:33

I like it.

tulipsunday · 24/10/2022 20:40

One of my favourites

nobird · 24/10/2022 20:47

It’s a great name.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 24/10/2022 20:48

I rarely see a name on baby names that I like, but I love Oscar!

Justme10 · 24/10/2022 20:51

I have an Oscar so I love it Grin

Stonebridge · 24/10/2022 20:52

I like it too. Used to love it more when it first became more popular but still like it

resm · 24/10/2022 20:52

I really love Oscar!

toastofthetown · 24/10/2022 20:54

Oscar feels tired and overdone to me. Inoffensive but very dull. It peaked in 2013 and is on the way down in popularity. I think Oscar might date if that bothers you.

OutofControl3 · 24/10/2022 21:10

Ooh that's interesting then thanks! I already have 2 boys and I think there lovely names and I don't want a name that's too popular I don't know of anyone in the school they go to called there name so I pretty much like that for me they are not out there names either just not popular in my area. Oscar is up on the list for me. Thanks again

I love it so much that I named my tortoise it 40 years ago. 🐢

FennelAndOnions · 24/10/2022 21:21

I know so many Oscar’s! There are loads of them. Several of my friends have Oscar’s so where I live there are loads and it’s really popular. It’s not my favourite name tbh.

Heythatwasmyhotdog · 24/10/2022 21:22

Also know a few Oscar’s, it’s quite a popular name.
what about Caleb? Similar vibe but less overused?

alotoftutus · 24/10/2022 21:28

I've always liked it.

AnuSTart · 24/10/2022 21:31

One of my least favourite names.

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/10/2022 23:02

It’s nice. Lots of them though

Firebird83 · 29/10/2022 23:27

It’s nice enough, but a bit overdone now.

Dassams · 30/10/2022 08:27

Oscar feels overused/overdone. It seems to have risen and fallen in popularity quite quickly.

Personally I would choose a more timeless name

OutofControl3 · 30/10/2022 09:09

Hmm well around me and my family and friends non of us actually no of any Oscars so may be used in the country but not where I'm from.

A name for a cat or a rather pompous man.

Hoppinggreen · 30/10/2022 10:20

I’ve got one!
Named him after my first dog
Hes 14 and we have only ever met another 1, although maybe it’s used more now

westthroughthewhitleywood · 30/10/2022 10:23

It's a trendy dogs name

RandomMusings7 · 30/10/2022 10:24

I love it. It works just as well for a baby as for a grown man and it's international enough to be recognised and pronounced right in most places.

RandomMusings7 · 30/10/2022 10:25

If Oscar is a bit too overdone... how about Oliver?
