Gave birth 3 days ago to a healthy son - yay! What are your thoughts on the name Joe? Would just be Joe, not Joseph. Siblings are Phoebe, Daniel and Luke.

Love the name Joe

PickAnyName · 16/10/2022 23:48

Sounds fine. Does it have a family history?

EnglishRose1320 · 16/10/2022 23:49

Firstly congratulations.

Name works well with your other names and is a nice name. Can I ask why just Joe though?

FrankTheThunderbird · 16/10/2022 23:49

Congratulations on the new baby. I like Joe.

EnglishRose1320 · 16/10/2022 23:50

Sorry posted too soon, only asking because I know a Joe and people often assume he is a Joseph.

DiamondsInTheMu · 16/10/2022 23:50

Thanks everyone. No family history. Not keen on the name Joseph for no particular reason, but love Joe. Never met a Joe that I didn't like

I like it. And my lovely nephew is called that Smile

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 16/10/2022 23:51

I’d do Joseph on the BC and call him Joe day to day. Would fit better with your other children-you didn’t call Daniel Dan for example though probably do day to day

DiamondsInTheMu · 16/10/2022 23:52

Thanks everyone. Middle name would be William by the way.

As long as your surname isn't Ninety you'll be grand.

scorpiogirly · 16/10/2022 23:54

Meh. Depends if you like it. If you do that's all that matters.

Passtheduchyonthelefthandside · 16/10/2022 23:55

I think Joseph William goes better than Joe William. Personally, I would put Joseph on BC, call him Joe, but he would also have the choice when he's older if he wants to extend his name

Congratulations 🍼

That's easy to say but it's the child who actually has to live with it.

therubbiliser · 16/10/2022 23:56

What do you know Joe….. I love it. Great Jae.

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/10/2022 23:56

YABU not to call him Joseph nn Joe. Why do all his siblings get nice full names and not him? Would you have called Phoebe Pheeebs? Why make poor Joe feel like Tiny Tim? If you don’t like Joseph there is always Josiah, or Johan / Johannes

DramaAlpaca · 16/10/2022 23:58

Yep. I agree with @Luredbyapomegranate

DiamondsInTheMu · 17/10/2022 00:00

Thanks everyone. Will definitely consider Joseph for BC. Also love the suggestion of Johan. The other name we like is Julian. But really love Joe.

Joe is a great name.
Joey is cute on a baby.
If you’re not sure on Joseph, how about Josef or Jozef, Jovan, Johann? For the BC.
I don’t think Joe William flows that well, both are great names by themselves. I would give a longer name and call him Joe.

pnutter · 17/10/2022 00:13

I have a joe
He's awesome 😊

Zizou04 · 17/10/2022 00:52

Joe is a great name on its own. It doesn't need to be Joseph.

CallieQ · 17/10/2022 00:55

Nice

FabFitFifties · 17/10/2022 00:57

Joe is great, but not with William. Johan William sounds good, as does Joseph William. Congratulations.

scorpiogirly · 17/10/2022 00:59

Aquamarine1029 · 16/10/2022 23:55

Well yes but it's not a bonkers name where the child will be embarrassed or mocked is it?

Mouldyfoodhelp · 17/10/2022 01:02

Joe is a nice every day name won't stick out or anything if you want them to blend in.

Unfortunately all I can think of when I hear it at the moment is about the main character in "You" having re read the books and watched the series recently but that won't be an issue when the child grows up

CuteCillian · 17/10/2022 01:07

Do you prefer Josiah to Joseph?
