As per title I am due dd in a couple of weeks and keep going backwards and forwards with her name choice.
We can't decide between Dorothy and Dorothea. I love Dorothy but not sure if it's a bit marmite? But maybe Dorothea is a bit of a mouthful?
Would appreciate opions thank you.

Dorothea is a mouthful but it's an elegant mouthful!

Highflow · 11/10/2022 02:14

I prefer Dorothy ❤️

Trez1510 · 11/10/2022 02:19

Dorothea.

That way you (or her friends) have options (Dotty, Thea) as NNs!

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 11/10/2022 02:20

Dorothy 💗

Dorothy

I love Dorothea. Nice name useable internationally and if it's too much for everyday you can shorten it to Dori, Dora, Dot, Dotty, Thea.

Dorothy has me thinking about Blanche and various other characters on Golden Girls saying "Daw-thy".

Snoopsnoggysnog · 11/10/2022 03:26

Dorothea!

NotABeliever · 11/10/2022 03:56

Dorothea for me!

mathanxiety · 11/10/2022 04:13

Dorothea is elegant.

Dorothy is dumpy.

ElmtreeMama · 11/10/2022 04:20

I have a Dorothea :)

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 11/10/2022 04:21

Dorothea, definitely!

Wordwatcher · 11/10/2022 04:24

Dorothea 💯%

Northstar12 · 11/10/2022 04:25

Dorothea! Feels more modern than Dorothy, plus she can shorten it to Thea if she wants.

Redleavescatfiend · 11/10/2022 04:29

What does a 'bit Marmite' mean?

Dollydea · 11/10/2022 04:31

Dorothea.

RetreatRetreatRetreat · 11/10/2022 04:47

Dorethea much nicer

ImustLearn2Cook · 11/10/2022 04:59

To be honest I was undecided until I read pp. I like the many options in shortening the name and that it does sound more modern.

ImustLearn2Cook · 11/10/2022 05:01

Oops I forgot to write Dorothea in my post.

Parmesam · 11/10/2022 05:05

Dorothea. I'd use Thea as a nickname.

sandytooth · 11/10/2022 05:07

See what comes more naturally when shes here? but I prefer Dorothy.

CastleTower · 11/10/2022 05:49

Dorothea
