Archie for a girl?

Having second girl in December and just watched the Lazarus project and there is a character Archie (think shirt for Archana in her case)

Never met a female Archie but it's growing on me. But can't shake the fact she'll likely always be expected to turn up and be a boy unless it really catches on in popularity!

Thoughts?

If the name wasn't currently so popular for boys, I might say yes. But your DD will spend a lot of time correcting people or having to explain why she has a male name and its just not fair.

We chose names that worked well in English but also would be suitable in most cultures (both their names are common in western/Islamic cultures and also eastern. Means wherever they live they will be ok (one is living overseas now) plus they are professional sounding for cv's in long form (nun's available)

I actually like it as a nickname for a girl but would have to find a feminine full name.

My thought on Archie for a girl is no.

It's a horrible name, but it's so cutesy it would actually be nicer on a girl.

Archina nn Archie could work. I think it’s really pretty either way and quirky names usually drive me crazy but I think this is really cute!
