Evereigh or Aliannah

I do prefer less common names and have been looking online and come across these. I like modern names more than the classic top 10 names like olivia, lily etc… Aliannah can be shortened to Ali for a nickname which i like. Everleigh isn’t very common over here in the UK but quite well known in the US which i dosent bother me too much. Which one do you prefer?

Everleigh is one of those names that sounds/looks similar to lots of other other popular names (Eveline, Evie, Ava), and will be very popular going forward because a lot of people will be looking for a name that sounds similar to Evelyn. I wouldn't pick it if you don't want a popular name. Also, " 'eavily pregnant." I'm not a fan.

Aliannah is a bit... frilly and the spelling/pronunciation will cause issues. How about something a bit simpler than shortens to Ali?

Both spellings are a bit... I'm sorry to say this but i can't think of a better word... chavvy.

Despite this, Everley is actually quite a nice name when spelled correctly. It's not rare or uncommon though, if that's what you're going for. And the meaning of the name is apparently 'boar in a meadow' which isn't the nicest I've ever heard.

Aliannah I really dislike. It looks and sounds like 'Alien' and she might get bullied for that. It also looks made up. It's a bit common IMO. I can't think of anything nice to say about the name - I don't like the spelling, the sound, any of it. According to naming sites, it's basically a misspelled version of Eliana.

If you want Ali for a nickname there are LOADS of nicer names out there.

Of the two I'd definitely choose Everley.

They’re both absolutely horrendous. Why would you inflict either of those names on a child? A Barbie doll, maybe, but not an actual living breathing human being. Some names are unusual for a good reason.

Alannah or Evelyn I’d say would be better but similar alternatives.

My eyes keep trying to turn the word Aliannah into the word Allah. It looks like a mispelling.

Everleigh is a beautiful name and I prefer that spelling as well. Aliannah is nice too! Ali is a cute nickname. For me Everleigh but that’s just because it’s on my list as well.

How about just Ever?

I prefer Arianna to Aliannah, but if you want Ali for a nickname, maybe Alice? Alicia? Allison?

Aliannah always looks wrong to me, no matter the spelling. Aliannah looks like too much and Aliana like too little and Alianna looks out of balance. As there is no established spelling she'll always have to spell it out which will be annoying. Ali is boring. I know lots of guys named this (pr. ah-lee) and lots of girls (pr. like Allie), short for Alyssa, Alicia, Alice, Alexandra etc. It's a really bland name, in my opinion. I'd spell it Allie so it will look more feminine.

Everly sounds kind of cute (reminds me of "forever" and "ever") but Everleigh looks trendy to me. I'd pick Everly, this spelling.

They both give me teen-mum vibes, which isn't a bad thing, but I do believe there actually was a child called Aliannah on "Teen Mom" and there is a famous teen mum on youtube who has an Everly. I always check which names were used on the show because they usually explode in popularity in the US which is interesting to observe.

Both names have 16 & Pregnant/Teen Mom vibes.

May I suggest Eliana? It looks correct to me and has a nice meaning.

Everly is nice too, though.

As far as trendy names go I also like Hadley. It means "heather field". And I have a soft spot for Madison and Aubrey.

I can't stand Everleigh. It's an American influence that I hope curls up into a ball and disappears. Aliannah is just horribly fussy though spelt like that.

They sound like stripper stage names.

Both bad I'm afraid. I don't see how you can like uncommon names, surely you like names for how they sound, no matter how common they are? Liking something purely because it's uncommon is a bit daft, Blodgetywallop is an uncommon name but it's not a good one.

Everleigh sounds like the kind of name you'd have on a Victorian/Edwardian terraced house to make it sound romantic. Aliannah is just bad.

Having to spell your name out over and over is really tedious OP, by all means go for a less used name but you won't do your kid any favours with these.

Aliana (agree with pp on simpler spelling) is nice.
