So, my sister told us last night her names ideas, and she was asking which we prefer. They decided that her husband and her would mix their names to create a new name.

So if it is a girl

Jamifer or Jeniams

A boy :

Jems
Jamer

We all told us it was horrible. But she insist on saying "stranger will find that cute". What do you think

You have such a way with names.

Such an awful awful way 😂

Apparently so.

How about Niames? This one has the added advantage that initially everyone will think your parents were idiots who mispronounced niamh. But then you can explain that they were in fact egotistical idiots instead.

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 13:37

Refimaj?

Like Heaven spelt backwards...

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 13:38

Maj for short

Very regal

GlitterB0mb · 17/09/2022 13:40

🤣🤣🤣🤣 those names are up there with Balonz! She has to be pulling your leg!

This, for some reason, puts me in mind of medicated talcum powder.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/09/2022 13:42

are we pronouncing Jenniams as Jenny-ams or similar to popular entertainer Will.I.Am?

Apparently, he has a sister called Gill.I.An. From what I hear, she's a champion at bill.i.ards.

jays · 17/09/2022 13:43

Oh you’re at it or she is, no one would do that!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/09/2022 13:44

I wonder if there will be any ardent royalists who had a baby last Thursday and called it Elizabarles? Long may s/he live, if so.

Courgettecity · 17/09/2022 13:44

Man, and I thought I had cursed my child with the world’s worst names. If she goes with Jamifer I shall abdicate and let her rule.

SudocremOnEverything · 17/09/2022 13:45

Glorious.

Semajiffer is lovely too and retains the Mai shortening.

Or just majiffer.

inejame. Can be shortened to inej but only if you pronounce it with the hard j sound from James at the end. Not something that might sound like an actual name!

Nobody really uses talcum powder nowadays, so that wouldn't really work; but Evian water is popular?

YesitsBess · 17/09/2022 13:46

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll hahahaha!

Whenever someone references Mr I.Am I can’t help but mutter “that Wil.I.am, that Will.I.am, I do not like that Wil.I.am!”

Even though I do quite like him. And probably would both in a box and with a fox.

ninjafoodienovice · 17/09/2022 13:47

I suspect you'll be in for a lifetime of just calling then 'my niece or my nephew'

Is your sister a bit thick? Perhaps you need to show her this thread. Hopefully bils parents will be very interfering and put a stop to the nonsense

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/09/2022 13:48

Does anybody else remember that intensely irritating song by Shirley Ellis - 'The Name Game' - where she kept playing around by swapping consonants (and bizarrely randomly banging on about bananas), in order to come up with a variant on a name?

Couldn't do any worse than this with that method.

YesitsBess · 17/09/2022 13:50

Source please Sausage. That sounds glorious.

Sweetpea1532 · 17/09/2022 14:00

@JulesJules 🤣

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/09/2022 14:02

Please no. Also giving me the jam / lucifer vibes.

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 14:02

Your Majjifer!

deep curtsy

JanePrentiss · 17/09/2022 14:06

Haha my cousin did this
I can't repeat the name as it would be far too outing but suffice to say they are an intolerable couple who think they are magnificent and the name is bloody daft.

Shame as the dc seems perfectly fine.

RoseMartha · 17/09/2022 14:07

Not a good idea
I would suggest if she is really set on the idea to use one as a middle name and use a more mainstream name to actually call the baby by.

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 14:07

OP, did your Sister just pick 7 Scrabble tiles out of the bag and throw them violently on the floor to see what they would spell?

Smileandtheworldsmileswithyou · 17/09/2022 14:08

This is just fucking stupid. Your sister sounds like an idiot.

b8tes7sw · 17/09/2022 14:09

I'd buy her a baby name book!!

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 14:11

b8tes7sw · 17/09/2022 14:09

Don't you mean a beby numi boak?

kuvira · 17/09/2022 14:14

She must be joking surely? Perhaps she doesn't want the actual names she's picked out to be torn apart by family members before the birth.
