Please tell my sister this is a horrible idea

So, my sister told us last night her names ideas, and she was asking which we prefer. They decided that her husband and her would mix their names to create a new name.

So if it is a girl

Jamifer or Jeniams

A boy :

Jems
Jamer

We all told us it was horrible. But she insist on saying "stranger will find that cute". What do you think

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/09/2022 12:58

Also, what if they have a second child of the same sex? Way to give them a huge complex when Mum is Jennifer, Dad is James, Sister is Jamifer and they're Linda.

She's at the wind up

Sister or OP? Hmm

Dilbertian · 17/09/2022 12:58

She's got to be pulling your leg!

We didn't even tell anybody our shortlist. If people need we would say ridiculously implausible things like that.

YesitsBess · 17/09/2022 12:59

Jamifer has absolutely ended me.

I’m picturing a tiny Lucifer brandishing a pot of strawberry conserve in a menacing fashion.

IncompleteSenten · 17/09/2022 13:00

Either she's winding you up or you're winding us up.

In case it's neither - nobody will find those names cute.

They'll think they are stupid.

Cos they are.

nachoavocado · 17/09/2022 13:00

Is she pregnant? If not was she pissed?

They sound bloody terrible

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/09/2022 13:01

Naming a child like tweens name 'ships'.

Priceless.

averageavocado · 17/09/2022 13:01

I think your sister is not old enough to have a baby, and should stick with www.sylvanianfamilies.com/en-uk/

Siilka · 17/09/2022 13:01

Nobody asked about her baby's name. She just told us last night herself, she seemed so excited and happy. We just said congratulations. She is serious.

Sister or OP? Hmm

Both!

NiteCat · 17/09/2022 13:03

If it's Jennifer and James, why not use the name Jess for either as it contains a bit of both.

Emrthecorgi · 17/09/2022 13:05

Dreadful idea

Ooh interesting, are you pronouncing it Jam-i-fer? I was going for Jaym-i-fer (as in James)...

I think I like Jam-i-fer more now I'm picturing jam-making devils?!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/09/2022 13:06

They could go all Game of Thrones - taking a normal name but just changing one vowel sound, to make it sound stoopid different - and call the child Jannifer.

DinaofCloud9 · 17/09/2022 13:06

Haha ridiculous. I don't believe she is serious.

ColadhSamh · 17/09/2022 13:08

She must be on the wind up. Cannot possibly be serious. Poor child.

mrsDracoMalfoy · 17/09/2022 13:09

Jamifer is brilliant, horrible but brilliant 😂

Dannifaye · 17/09/2022 13:09

Those names are awful.
If she’s adamant she wants to honour their names :

Janey
Jay
Janis
Jens (pronounced Yens)

IggityZiggity · 17/09/2022 13:10

She is definitely winding you up 🤣

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/09/2022 13:11

Surely she's joking (or somebody is).

dottiedodah · 17/09/2022 13:11

Jamifer Short name Jammy! Just No a thousand times over!

Georgeskitchen · 17/09/2022 13:12

I believe many kids who have been given silly names (looking at you , celebs) often change them.to something more sensible in later life 😀

Nadal · 17/09/2022 13:12

This isn't real surely.

Ask her how she would feel having a mix of her parents names. Hopefully she will get the point.

midlifecrash · 17/09/2022 13:13

Jeniams is even worse.

this is a Balonz isn’t it

MissMogwai · 17/09/2022 13:15

Jamifer instantly made me think of this 🤣

Please tell my sister this is a horrible idea
