GetOrfMoiLand · 23/01/2008 16:08

Coby' other names

Isaac - I like this against all better judgement as when I was growing up wit was a farmer's sons name.
Michael - no - dull, also could get shortened to Mike (urgh)
Mason - chavvy
Ephram - Is it not spelt Ephraim? Mmmn not sure
Montgomery - I like this, and Monty
Elliot - I like this
Marshall - urghh

Sorry if causes offence but makes me think of a slightly chubby portaloo.

belcantavinissima · 23/01/2008 16:31
  1. sorry.
cluckyagain · 23/01/2008 16:31

10 - hideous, hideous, hideous.

speak2deb · 23/01/2008 16:32
  1. sounds like a storybook bear.
tullytwo · 23/01/2008 16:38

I love Ephram (its pronounced Ef-ram for those who are querying the spelling) - would choose it for another boy - have 2 ds's with unusual(ish) names

What about Ezra? Love it but know someone who has used it already.

Definitely not Portley - cant believe people even use it as a nickname! This is from someone who was nicknamed Fats by her dad and unfortunately have lived up to my name!

Flibbertyjibbet · 23/01/2008 16:42

Is this another piss take thread like the lady pretending to call her child (I think) taquina-mahree the other day?

Portley can't POSSIBLY enter into anyone's brain as a choice of name for child, surely?

Kimi · 23/01/2008 16:48

ConnieDescending · 23/01/2008 17:07

thought Oakley and Scout were bad enough

portly is an 11, unless you plan on spending you life around people who don't make the connection to 'fat', in which case it would be an 8,

You could, I suppse , go the whole hog (no pun intended) and call Him Portly Lar'darse, because , as we all know, children can pick on anything to tease a child about

10 sorry!! It's too much like Portly as in fat! - what about Porter instead?

coppertop · 29/06/2010 10:15

As this thread is now 2.5yrs old I imagine Portley is probably well on his way to being a toddler by now.

did you really have to ask?

If it's a family surname that you want to use as a given name, then give it as a middle name. after 2 others.
