Middle name has been decided on Brianna/Brianne (late DF was called Brian) don't want opinions on that as decided on this as a middle name / name for a DD since before I was pregnant, DP likes Phoebe but I think it's a little too common for my liking now... We also Quite like Heidi ,,, TIA xx

I like it, I think Naomi Brianne sounds nice

Crocwok · 04/09/2022 20:25

My closest friend is a Naomi and I love it.

jewishmum · 04/09/2022 20:25

It's a great name.

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 04/09/2022 20:26

Heidi by a long long way

Naomi -people will say it at least 3 different ways, it'll get spelt incorrectly, I personally just don't like it.

phoebe as sbove

i really like Heidi!

frenchie4002 · 04/09/2022 20:27

Heidi is gorgeous but Naomi is nice too

Cloud16 · 04/09/2022 20:27

I don't like how some people pronounce it and I find it un-nicknameable.

I know a lovely one though!

Luredbyapomegranate · 04/09/2022 20:29

Naomi Brianna works well

Heidi is shooting up in popularity and is also very wet and babyish. Naomi is the nicest and most elegant of the three.

I think Brianne might get her teased a bit because it is a bit comedy, so I'd hold onto the a on the end.

anon2022anon · 04/09/2022 20:29

Is Brianna pronounced Bree-anna, not a hard Bry? I would personally ponounce Naomi as Ni- Omi if so, as Nay-omi Bree- Anna are two 'soft' similar sounding names together.

bowchicawowwow · 04/09/2022 20:30

Love the name Naomi

DorisDayAtTheAppollo · 04/09/2022 20:30

@TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination I sort of see where you're coming from but I've only ever heard it pronounced and/or spelled differently and handful of times, I think if family or friends where to get it wrong I'd just correct them and if strangers got it wrong I wouldn't be that bothered, I've seen in the past Phoebe being pronounced Phe-OH-be, so I suppose most names can ger mispronounced to a degree x

Love it. I have a friend who is called Naomi

YourUserNameMustBeAtLeast3Characters · 04/09/2022 20:33

It doesn’t really matter how the two names sound together or flow. I have older children and we never use their middle names (other than forms!).

Naomi is a lovely classic underused name (and N-I-omi brings me out in a cold sweat and it’s not even my name). Nay-Oh-me all the way.

FredrikaPeri · 04/09/2022 20:34

Love it.

scarediecat · 04/09/2022 20:34

Love it. Beautiful name.

FredrikaPeri · 04/09/2022 20:35

I also love the way European's pronounce it: "Naow-me" 🇪🇺

sidewayswalking · 04/09/2022 20:35

The fact that you had to put the pronunciation in brackets is enough to make it a no from me. Those brackets will follow your child their entire life.

Wowitshot · 04/09/2022 20:39

I have never heard Naomi pronounced any way other than Nay Oh Mee, I couldn’t even imagine how else it might be pronounced until seeing what other people posted. I think it’s lovely and the vast majority of people will say Nay Oh Mee.

Wouldloveanother · 04/09/2022 20:41

I like it!

User6761 · 04/09/2022 20:46

I pronounce it Nye-o-may. I've only ever met people with that pronunciation (in Scotland if that makes a difference).

mathanxiety · 04/09/2022 20:59

Lovely name - recognisable but still unusual, and it goes well with the middle name.

That's just nay-oh-mee in a Scottish accent! (I say as a scot!)

mathanxiety · 04/09/2022 21:05

Phoebe Brianne /Brianna has too many Bs and too many long E sounds running together. Phoebe itself is nice but not worth the middle name. Phoebe Bryony is a bit better bit still too many Bs.

Heidi, Trudy, and Wendy are three names I really can't see the attraction of. Heidi has a harsh sound imo and is as dated as Wendy is.

mathanxiety · 04/09/2022 21:05

Not with the middle name..

DorisDayAtTheAppollo · 04/09/2022 21:23

@mathanxiety as I already stated, I chose the middle name before I was even pregnant, they are both femine forms of my father's name, I think they flow nicely and am now leaning more towards Brianna rather than Brianne thanks to a few PP's, so thanks guys 😘 ... Also glad that the majority use the Nay-OH-Mee pronunciation which I believe is the standard way of it being pronounced, although I have met/heard of Ny-OH-mee, & Noomi, but like I said as well, it would t bother me if strangers got it wrong and it's easy enough for family and friends not to get in a pickle over surely x
