LPF, No, No, you're definitely not her, I shan't tell how I know though

My mate lives on a traveller site and informs me that one of the women there had two DS - Boy and Newboy.

Oh also, those weird names were combined with really normal middle names, Anne and James iirc.

Years ago when my Dad was growing up, he knew a family of girls whos names included Maureen Pauline and Doreen, eventually a son arrived and a local wag was heard to say in the pub "spose the poor lads gonna get called Urine" He was called Martin!

Sometimes people don't like their names being mocked, whether pg or not..
I don;t think that's unreasonable/

Blandmum · 20/01/2008 09:55

If you pick an 'unusual' name I think that they should get used to the feeling of being teased. Or at least the look of a double take. And if they don't want people's opinions, why ask?

MellitaMummy23 · 20/01/2008 10:18

I'm talking about my and my brothers' names.
I'm actually named after a place in Tunisia where I was concieved. I think my brothers Kenrick and Merrick are very proud of their ancient names.

Carmenere · 20/01/2008 10:23

I have a very unusual name albeit a 'proper' one with a history behind it. I couldn't give a toss whether people take the piss out of it tbh but I suspect that is because it is an actual name as opposed to a result of my parents trying too hard.

VictorianSqualor · 20/01/2008 10:36

'Melitta' was from coffee actually

onebatmother · 20/01/2008 10:40

Pan · 20/01/2008 15:08

What about the unisex-generic "Oiyou!!".
