Declan but not your spelling of it

Classica · 17/07/2022 22:50

Declan?

DramaAlpaca · 17/07/2022 23:08

Declan. This spelling.

Dic · 17/07/2022 23:11

Did you mean Declan? If so that. Not hunter.

TreePoser · 17/07/2022 23:13

Declan.

The irish spelling is Deaghlán I think but just go for Declan. That's easy for everybody.

TreePoser · 17/07/2022 23:13

yeh, Hunter is terrible. I literally see a HUNTER, out there with a spear. It's very aggressive.

Classica · 17/07/2022 23:28

I don't personally mind some of the dreaded 'American' names but Hunter just reminds me of this cheesy bloke.

Hunter or Dechlan?
Classica · 17/07/2022 23:29

I am hearing Dechlan in a Scouse accent.

Tisyphone · 17/07/2022 23:29

Declan or Déaglán.

🤣🤣🤣
I loved Hunter as a teenager! Older me, not so much.

OP Declan is lovely. Is Dechlan a typo or do you pronounce it differently?

Sussyknowsthemeaningoflife · 17/07/2022 23:43

Declan
Hunter makes me think of Joe Biden's terrible terrible son. 😔

ChagSameachDoreen · 17/07/2022 23:54

They're both appalling names

Depakote · 18/07/2022 07:14

Hunter is really not a nice name. If the association of killing for pleasure does not deter you...

SpringIntoChaos · 18/07/2022 07:40

Neither...Hunter is awful (very American, in the style of Parker and Jackson, where they use surnames for first names).

Declan is asking for a lifetime of being called Dec (Ant and Dec 🤷‍♀️).

Your spelling of it is also ridiculous.

Think again OP...and think of your child as an adult being called the name.

stuntbubbles · 18/07/2022 07:44

Katherine is such a nice name, but Hunter and Dechlan are both horrendous, sorry.

RuthW · 18/07/2022 07:57

Declan

user1492757084 · 18/07/2022 08:20

Hunter is too over used right now.

Declan is the better of the two.

Annoyedwithmyself · 18/07/2022 08:22

Declan is nice, as is the Irish spelling upthread. Hunter is a bit naff, soz.

Strugglingtodomybest · 18/07/2022 08:23

Declan

Grin

Declan.

ClinkeyMonkey · 18/07/2022 08:46

I'd lose the 'h' from Dechlan and go with that. Good name. I don't like Hunter at all.

Runningdownthehill22 · 18/07/2022 08:48

I don’t like either sorry but definitely not Hunter. Katherine is lovely!

PancakesWithCheese · 18/07/2022 13:26

Does Declan have an H?

TheMess · 18/07/2022 13:30

Hunter really isn't a nice name. It's not a pleasant word, when you think about it. Also, what do you shorten it to? Hunt?

ofwarren · 18/07/2022 13:32

Hunter, the same as pp gives me images of Biden, Gladiators and actual hunters
Declan makes me think of Ant and Dec but it's much better than Hunter.
