Lena Serenity?

Wondering what people's thoughts on this name are. We have a short, constananty surname that sounds similar to Pond. Me and Dsis and also, by chance, DsisIL all have virtue middle names and I'd like to continue that but a lot of them sound a bit short with the first and surname. I have come to really love this combo but DH isn't sure about Serenity. Knowing me and DH I think the chance of serene offspring are slim but that doesn't really bother me!

So Lena Serentiy Pond (not actual surname)

Thoughts? And any other virtue middle names that could work?

Both lovely names which go terribly together.

arethereanyleftatall · 08/07/2022 12:34

You'd need a plain name with either of those.

FuzzBuzzyBumbleBee · 08/07/2022 12:34

To add me dsis, and dsisil are Hope, Charity, and Faith so I had discounted those

What about lena grace?

StarlingsInTheRoof · 08/07/2022 12:41

I wouldn't see any issue is reusing a family middle name. Lena Faith and Lena Hope both go well. In any case, middle name won't wlbe used much, so Serenity would be fine too if your dh agrees.

Primatrying · 08/07/2022 12:56

I think Serenity is beautiful. I don't know why a pp thought it didn't go with Lena.

I've always been partial to Patience.
Honesty
Modesty
Unity
Felicity
Ernestina?!
Verity.

I think Felicity goes well.

I assume you are discounting names which mean a virtue but less obviously, like Dilys? Or things like "Goodluck" etc which are unusual in today's British society?

Forestgate · 08/07/2022 13:00

Honour

erinaceus · 08/07/2022 13:01

I think Lena Felicity

I also like Constance but I think you need three syllables with Lena.

I think Lena Felicity

I also felt I needed at least 3 syllabes with Lena and a short surname. I always thought we'd go with Joy as the middle name but it just all sounds to short to me.

I do like Lena Felicity a lot though - I'll see what DH thinks. I think because I've been mulling it over for a while Lena Serenity now sounds "right" in my head in a way that nothing else quite does so it's good to get some other ideas 😊

Kind of love the idea of Lena Ernestina though @Primatrying ...

I’m really sorry, as individually I think they’re both quite nice names, but together to me they sound like a new feminine hygiene product. 😬 It’s because Lena has that sleek, international, slightly corporate ‘brand name’ feel, and Serenity is the classic pretty-sounding, slightly coy type of adjective used to market to women. Like Liberty or Harmony.

Lena with a slightly different middle name would be beautiful however. I like Lena Verity and Lena Felicity. Maybe also Lena Clemency? I love Honor, but it doesn’t sound right with Lena - too similar.

KirstenBlest · 08/07/2022 14:01

Serenity is awful IMO and combined with a noun surname, it could sound like a product

Flangelica · 08/07/2022 14:05

I like it! Beautiful and rare.

Other beautiful virtue names:
Lena Mercy
Lena Clemency
Lena Joy

Ruffelo · 08/07/2022 14:10

I feel like she'd insist on talking to me about the healing power of crystals

pinklavenders · 08/07/2022 15:33

Lena will often get mispronounced as Lay-na or Lee-na in the UK.

It's a German name pronounced Leh-na.

KirstenBlest · 08/07/2022 15:58

I know a few Lenas who aren't german and they are Leena or Lenna

Lena Zavaroni was Leena, or she was when she was on Opportunity Knocks

ChagSameachDoreen · 08/07/2022 19:16

Sounds like an escort's pseudonym.

FuzzBuzzyBumbleBee · 08/07/2022 19:22

Feminine hygiene product, healing crystal seller, and escort are really not the vibes I was hoping for 🙈!

We’ll pronounce it Lee-na

My DD has a Serenity in her class. I wasn't sure at first but it has grown on me and I quite like it now.

Lena is pretty, just not my style as L names are everywhere and all kind of blend into one for me. At least it's not Layla though

Other suggestions

Lena Patience
Lena Constance
Lena Prudence
Lena Faith

Modesty?! That would be the worst possible name to impose on a child. I fact I think a lot of these names are ridiculous and the child will have a lifetime of comments about whether or not they live uk to their daft name.

NatMoz · 08/07/2022 19:33

I am not a fan of Serenity but we have a Yelena we nickname Lena

namechangeanonymous · 08/07/2022 19:34

I feel awful but I thought of a female ' massager' sorry ... But she's your baby who cares what a random stranger thinks.

stormelf · 08/07/2022 19:36

I actually really like Lena Joy Pond, if you think it's too short you could maybe add another middle name? My oldest DD has a short 2 syllable name with a similar sound to Lena and her middle name is a short 1 syllable middle name (similar to Joy), she has a second middle name after it but is mainly called by her first name and first middle name (when being naughty)

3peassuit · 08/07/2022 19:37

I like both names but they don’t gel together.
