Amelie - J middle names?

BlueSky57 · 03/07/2022 11:44

Hi all. First baby due in a few weeks & the only first name my husband & I can agree on is Amelie.

Now we are stuck on middle names but have quite a common last name (Evans), so feel a middle name is needed.

We both have middle names beginning with J (mine is Jade & his is Jamie) so thinking a J middle name would be nice.

Amelie Jade is fine but would maybe be last option as I’m not sure if it’s a bit weird to give baby the exact same middle name as me?

Any ideas welcome! Thanks

Jasmine
Joy
Jean
Jewel
Jeanette
Jemima

Julietta

I personally think you can go a bit more unusual with a middle name than a first name

With Jane I think straight away of Enid Blyton 'Naughty Amelia Jane' series, prob not relevant these days though! Like Juliet.

Underhisi · 03/07/2022 12:13

Amelia Jane was an Enid Blyton character ( a naughty doll) so with Jane, Jade etc people people may think/ make that reference. Juliet and Jasmine are nice.

I forgot about the Amelia Jane books! I loved them.

momager1 · 03/07/2022 12:41

i was about to come on and suggest jade! I have a lovely friend and that is her name...but be wary.. if you do not like short forms, everyone except her parents call her AJ.

Don'tknowwhichnametopick · 03/07/2022 15:47

Jaye

pinklavenders · 03/07/2022 16:28

Middle names never get used.

I'd focus on the first and surname sounding good together. Amelie Evans is nice (although indeed probably very common).

ChagSameachDoreen · 03/07/2022 18:10

Amelie Jupiter

PaniDomu · 03/07/2022 18:13

Jeanne. To follow the Frenchness of Amelie.

Jolia.

Joy.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone, never realised there were so many J names 😂

If we didn’t go for a J middle name after all, what would you think would sound good as a middle name? With Amelie being the first & Evans being the last name… I’d probably avoid Rose & Grace as although they sound nice, I have a lot of friends who have used these recently.

thanks!
