I like it, it’s cute. Auggie from Wonder was such a lovely character though so maybe that’s clouding my judgment.

Ugh no. Gus is better but even that's a bit borderline. Does August actually need a nickname? What's wrong with just August?

Give your child whatever nickname you like.

The trouble with August is that I never know whether it is a version of the classic name Augustus / Augusta etc with the emphasis on GUST or after the month with the emphasis on the first syllable AU
Guess that would also influence the nickname used

I never read Wonder, just half watched the film, assumed the kid's name was "Ugly" thought it was an odd choice...
