Hi, interested in thoughts/opinions on these three names (and any others you think I might like - I’m not 100% convinced by any of them).

Our surname is double barrelled but both quite common/simple sounding names. Names ending in ‘a’ don’t sound great with it.

I think I like simple, strong, recognisable but not too common names. I also like nature names. Finding it so much harder the second time around and my partner and I have such different taste. These three names are the only maybes we agree on at the moment…

Many thanks!

Joni and Cleo are both great! Iris is nice too but much more common around here anyway.

It's unlike me but I really like all three!

I guess if shoved I'd go for Iris.

I like Cleo best but all nice

Huntswomanonthemove · 20/06/2022 16:39

Cleo is lovely. I don’t like the other two.

amylou8 · 20/06/2022 16:43

Three lovely names, but Iris is my favourite.

Iris, out of your choices

DasAlteLeid · 20/06/2022 17:22

Love them all! Throwing Robin in to the mix as another nature-based, simple name that I also love.

Cotswoldmama · 20/06/2022 17:24

Love Joni, I love Cleo too although it's definitely gaining popularity. Iris is really popular where I live with the rich hippy types, which puts me off the name a bit.

Iris lovely but a lot of them

Not even Joni M can make Joan appealing, although alright if short for Joanna.

Lois? Ines?

Iris or Cleo - gorgeous names. Don’t like Joni at all.

Notmanybroadbeans · 20/06/2022 19:36

Iris is very trendy round here, but it's grown on me a lot. Cleo is ok. Not a fan of Joni, even though Joni Mitchell made that spelling famous I still think a lot of people would read it as "Johnny" more often than you might expect. I thought why not Joan NN Joanie, but that tips it from hipster oldie to just plain oldie, in my book.
