Genevieve, with nic name Ginny is gorgeous!

ANUsernam · 04/06/2022 06:10

Genevieve

Orchidflower1 · 04/06/2022 06:10

I think most people she’d meet should short en to Jenny- do you like that?

MaxiPaddy · 04/06/2022 06:19

Guinevere is super tacky - she'll get King Arthur jokes her whole life.

Tryagain2020 · 04/06/2022 06:34

Genevieve.

Disagree that Guinevere is tacky. And how many King Arthur jokes do people know?!

toastedcat · 04/06/2022 06:52

I think Guinevere is much cooler!

Orphlids · 04/06/2022 07:23

I like both, but Guinevere is just great! Nothing remotely tacky about it, quite the opposite I’d say. But a shy child could struggle with it, I suppose.

Honaloulou · 04/06/2022 07:55

I like both. Guinevere could be NN Gwin, which is cute and might be easier for a little one to handle.

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 04/06/2022 08:05

Love both. I know a Guinevere who goes by Gwyn/G

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 04/06/2022 08:07

I love Guinevere and don't see how it's "tacky" at all? 🤔 It's hardly Chardonnay!

PoseyFlump · 04/06/2022 08:33

OP do you prefer Jenny / Ginny or Gwyn?

JeansAndJumper · 04/06/2022 08:34

Guinevere just seems like a big name to live up to. It's not to do with length or syllables it's just so grand and regal sounding. Genevieve seems like a friendlier more down to earth name to my ears. I'd make it Vivi for short.

DogsAndGin · 04/06/2022 08:35

Genevieve by a mile

MissPocket · 04/06/2022 08:39

Genevieve

FlipFlopShopInHawaii · 04/06/2022 08:41

Genevieve, always loved it.
Also love Ginevra (gin-eve-ra).
I find Guinevere very harsh sounding.

whatwasyournamesorry · 04/06/2022 08:46

Genevieve / Gen

Timeless

MrsBertBibby · 04/06/2022 08:58

Guinevere. Beautiful name.

pinklavenders · 04/06/2022 11:21

I prefer Geneviève

merryhouse · 04/06/2022 11:25

I prefer Genevieve

but I'd be more inclined to use Jennifer

Ragged · 04/06/2022 11:28

They are both tongue twisters for me. Guinevere (Gwen) slightly less so.

starlingdarling · 04/06/2022 11:30

I love Genevieve. I wouldn't know how to pronounce Guinevere. Not heard it before and have no clue about King Arthur so couldn't make a joke of it.

AnElegantChaos · 04/06/2022 11:38

Guinevere is a beautiful name and also reminds me of this lovely wee song

KirstenBlest · 04/06/2022 12:04

I don't like either of them. Jennifer is nicer than Genevieve.
Guin/Gwyn sounds masculine and there are prettier versions like Gwenhwyfar or Gaenor

SheWoreYellow · 04/06/2022 12:07

I knew a Belgian Genevieve and it was pronounced differently. Jeune - vee - EV.
Which is interesting.

KirstenBlest · 04/06/2022 12:13

Genevieve is nice in french. It seems long and clumsy to me and is probably popular because of the Eve/Eva/Evie type names
