It may come from Celtic Caradoc, meaning 'beloved'. Ivanhoe and Harry Potter character.
I think it should be used more.

I like it.

IStandWithMaya · 02/06/2022 09:32

I love it. I know two! But neither are babies.

WeasilyPleased · 02/06/2022 13:26

I quite like it. Ced is cool.

Irishfarmer · 02/06/2022 15:07

I like it, but I do immediately think of Cedric Diggory

Mosmuma · 02/06/2022 17:39

Cedric the entertainer / Cedric the dragon

Soulstirring · 02/06/2022 17:51

Stop it

Pemba · 02/06/2022 18:03

I like it pronounced with a hard c, so like ked-rik I know someone with a Welsh mother who has this name).

Pronounced sed-rik I find it a bit wussy, like Cyril.

Really cute. I also like Edmund which I think has the same kind of vibe.

Edmund the traitor. Confused

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 02/06/2022 18:13

Not in the north, in places where names are shortened and ‘our’ prefixed. 😁

ErrolTheDragon · 02/06/2022 18:14

Sounds like someone who wears corduroy trousers and a tweed jacket.

LesLavandes · 02/06/2022 18:21

Oh noooo

timoteigirl · 02/06/2022 18:22

Yes shoudl be used more often. To me in a similar category as Tristan.

SpaceJamtart · 02/06/2022 18:23

I knew one and he has a speech impediment so it came out Shedric, its a weird dusty name like Edmund or Barnabus

Madamecastafiore · 02/06/2022 19:00

Very cool and different. Better than all the Archie and Alfies. Percy is quite cool too. I used to work with a v v posh Cedric. Lived on Sloane Squats and his father was a lord. He was a total hotty.

FlamingoDust · 02/06/2022 19:50

Love it! It was on my list but I had girls

bloominglovelyorange · 02/06/2022 22:13

not keen.

it's actually a made up name based on the original CERDIC which is even worse....

I love Cedric!

Very cool and much more memorable and interesting than lots of common top 10 names.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 13/06/2022 16:02

Finding out a hot guy was called Cedric would be a bit of a passion killer for me tbh.

VioletLemon · 13/06/2022 16:03

In Scotland absolutely awful. Please God, no!!!
