I love the name Frank, strong, simple, and stylish. However, anyone I have mentioned this name to has responded that it is an old man name, and that Francis is so much nicer. Normally I like soft, almost feminine boys names, so I should like Francis more, but I find Frank far nicer.

I’m not fond of Spencer, nor Vincent and especially Vince or Vinnie.

If you're serious then Spencer is ok. Frank is one of the ugliest names ever.

My friends dog is called Frank and he's lovely 😕

I don't mind Frank and prefer it to Spencer. Bit confused by the pp who called it 'bloody terrible'. Both Frank and Frankie are in the top 200, so not like Frank is hugely controversial choice. My favourite of the three is Vincent, though I dislike the diminutives for it.

I know a toddler Franklin nicknamed Frank - he's cute

Of course he is. He's a dog. They're all lovable. Dogs can make anything cute but it's still an ugly name for a human.

I agree OP, I don’t understand people saying it is terrible and ugly. I could understand dated, or boring, names won’t appeal to everyone, but I just don’t get what people see is so horrible about Frank! But it doesn’t surprise me as I have seen it get a similar reception in the past
