Family name that I really love. Thoughts? For a girl.

Poor kid gonna be Oreo.

Middle name at the very most....

ElenaSt · 22/05/2022 20:22

Golden Oriel.

No. Kids will call her oral.

AssignedSlytherinAtBirth · 22/05/2022 20:23

Lovely. Interesting. It's a window, though, isn't it? So I'd probably go for Ariel.

Furrbabymama87 · 22/05/2022 20:23

Don't even go there.

AloyNoraWarrior · 22/05/2022 20:23

First thing that came to mind was the fact it’s the name of the recruitment portal for post-grad medics, dentists, pharmacists…

Trinacham · 22/05/2022 20:24

Made me think of L'Oréal if I'm honest

User354354 · 22/05/2022 20:24

Oral. Was my first pronunciation in my head.

WakeWaterWalk · 22/05/2022 20:25

Window.

Undecicive · 22/05/2022 20:35

washing powder

pictish · 22/05/2022 20:40

Lovely but will be misheard frequently.

AnnaMagnani · 22/05/2022 20:47

Made me think of the recruitment portal.

SpringIntoChaos · 22/05/2022 20:51

I used to go to Oriel Bank School...so I'd really have to say no 🤣

AdaColeman · 22/05/2022 21:04

I was at school with an Oriel, I've liked it ever since. Its meaning is "golden" which is lovely.

SpaceJamtart · 22/05/2022 21:13

Is it pronounced Or-ree-ell or Or-ree-ul or something else?

SpudsIluv · 22/05/2022 21:53

Biscuit 🍪 anyone!😲🤣

peaceinourtime · 23/05/2022 00:16

It was my grandmother's name, we didn't have much of a relationship.

alorslanon · 23/05/2022 00:20

We have one in the family. She hates it. But I also had a friend called Auriole, which I always really liked. Same name, more usual spelling IMO. And of course Aurelia is v popular now…

Gloschick · 23/05/2022 00:24

I know an Aurielle. She is called Auri for short. I'm not sure I like Oriel so much.

Dinoteeth · 23/05/2022 00:30

Biscuits or Soap powder.

Sorry but no from me

Sœtr · 25/05/2022 00:44

I like it!

ErrolTheDragon · 25/05/2022 00:47

Window, bird, Oxford college.
It sounds nice but I think has too many other meanings.

AuntTwacky · 25/05/2022 00:48

Nah

Seashor · 25/05/2022 22:11

It’s a boys name from the Catalan region of Spain.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 25/05/2022 23:27

Would you have enjoyed school with a name that sounds like 'oral'? She's going to endure jokes about it for her whole life. Aurielle/Aurelia is a safer bet.

CherryMaple · 25/05/2022 23:58

It’s beautiful. Love it as a middle name.
