Hi Moms!
Thoughts on the name Monroe Claire (Claire is a family name) for baby GIRL due in a few weeks?? Big sis is Everly Rose! 💖

Claire Monroe flows better ▪︎imp▪︎ 🙂

DramaAlpaca · 18/04/2022 01:45

Claire is beautiful. Monroe isn't an attractive name.

DPotter · 18/04/2022 01:53

Not a fan of surnames as first names, so I agree with DramaAlpaca - Claire Monroe

Think you meant you agree with me 👍🙂

I prefer Marlowe for some reason! Everly Rose is really pretty and I feel like Monroe just isn’t as pretty as Everly somehow. But it’s not terrible either, it’s just okay compared with Everly Rose!

Thehundredthnamechange · 18/04/2022 06:12

Love Everley but dislike Monroe. It's not really a name is it? With Everley I'd put something like:
Piper
Marlowe
Seren
Juno

spearmynt · 18/04/2022 06:35

I love Monroe Smile

Suprima · 18/04/2022 06:37

Is Monroe a family name or is your inspiration Marilyn?

It sounds faux retro to me and conjures up images of someone wearing a polyester Hell Bunny pin-up dress.

Marlow is much nicer. Or Margot. Or Harlow.

JellyDeels · 18/04/2022 08:55

Monroe is too heavily associated with Marilyn Monroe for me and it's too surnamey. I do quite like Everly but I think Everly and Monroe sounds a bit... odd.

GoodSoup · 18/04/2022 09:03

I don’t like Monroe at all as it doesn’t feel like a name. Plus it doesn’t go with Everly.

whatausername · 18/04/2022 09:31

Monroe/Munro isn't very pretty at all. I just think of munros and a dead actress with an addiction.

DPotter · 18/04/2022 11:13

Sorry twiggy19 !

DPotter · 18/04/2022 11:14

Marlow and Harlow are place names, which are even worse than surnames in my book

Kitkat151 · 18/04/2022 11:19

I don’t like either…both too chavvy for me

Ikeatears · 18/04/2022 11:23

@Kitkat151 did you read the original post? Op already has a daughter Everley. Little bit mean of you to refer to the name as 'chavvy'

workingmomlife · 18/04/2022 11:32

Agree with this

Also "Claire" is a bit too plain to go with Monroe - it doesn't work at all as Monroe Claire

Claire Monroe if you absolutely have to

Easymeasy · 18/04/2022 11:59

Love Monroe. Claire is awful.

Whereas that comment is the epitome of classy behaviour. What a nasty little person you are.
WhyTheWhales · 18/04/2022 13:34

Everly Rose is lovely. I don't like Monroe as a first name at all.

Maybe Clara since you like Claire?

WeasilyPleased · 18/04/2022 22:56

I think Everly is pretty and feminine but Monroe doesn't sound that. Marilyn is v uncommon now and Marilyn Claire...or even better Marianne Claire...goes better.

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/04/2022 23:11

No. Makes me think of mountains and tragic actresses. It’s also not a name.

Claire is nice - why not call her that? Or Clara.

How is Claire chavvy?!

Marlow and Harlow are no better than Munroe.

Margot is nice though. How about Clara Margot OP?

Of course 🙄 let me guess, Charlotte or Catherine?

I like Everly OP, but Monroe reminds me of monobrow for some reason.

Claire is very 70s dated, like Karen.
