Susie or Sukie

May,
Mae or
Mai

I don’t need to know you don’t like any of them just interested in which spelling of May and Susie vs Sukie or Sukey

Susannah, leaving either Susie or Sukie as nn possibilities, I like Sukie.

May as spelling definitely, but it is such a current filler name.

ramidad123 · 13/04/2022 18:03

Sukie Mae is so cute ! love

GoodSoup · 13/04/2022 18:05

Susie May, but May is just an over used filler name now.

Lucasboo · 13/04/2022 18:07

I should add the May but is for family reasons rather than just a filler but considering varying the spelling

I only like Susie if it is short for Susannah.

Suki is the only way I've ever seen the other name spelled.

I like May (not Mae nor Mai - I would pronounce the second as "My")

ramidad123 · 13/04/2022 18:13

im gonna add i love the spelling Mei as well and is pronounced the exact same as may. mei is of chinese origin

TinaTurtle · 13/04/2022 18:22

Susie May

DramaAlpaca · 13/04/2022 18:23

Susie May is the least worst of them

If you're naming a Yorkshire terrier then Sukie is fine. It's ridiculous for a human

EmergencyHammer · 13/04/2022 18:24

Sukie Mae

Lovely

Nomunkat · 13/04/2022 18:25

Susie May

SquigglePigs · 13/04/2022 18:26

May or Mae would both work. If I saw Mai I'd pronounce it "My" so that would set your daughter up for a lifetime of correcting people.

I prefer Sukie over Susie but Susie is still ok.

I like a pp suggestion of a longer name that could abbreviate to either too.

Suprima · 13/04/2022 18:27

Suki spelled correctly is the best.

helpmum2003 · 13/04/2022 18:28

Susie May but I agree Suzanna is better.

toastofthetown · 13/04/2022 18:29

Susie works better as a standalone name than Sukie. May is by far my preference for the middle name spelling. I would pronounce Mai more like My. I know a young Susie May, so though I prefer Susanna as a full name, I don't think Susie is bad. The nickname as a full name trend is huge at the moment.

Datsandcogs · 13/04/2022 18:30

Susie every time. Suki is a cat’s name.

scottishnames · 13/04/2022 18:39

Susan even - really rather a pretty name - or Susannah, with HER choice of Sukey (traditional spelling) or Susie as a nickname - or something completely different, such as 'Tiddles' or 'Podge' or 'Boo' or whatever, because that's how nicknames work.
May for the month, or (trad) short for Mary is fine as a middle name.

mistermagpie · 13/04/2022 18:47

Susie short for susannah.

But if it's Sukie then I think it should be Suki.

May should be spelled like that.

DuchessOfSausage · 13/04/2022 18:49

Susie is OK but May is a filler middle name even if it is a family name.
Mae and Mai are awful

Lucasboo · 13/04/2022 18:51

@Suprima

Suki spelled correctly is the best.
Suki is of Japanese derivation and a completely different name.

Sukie and Sukey are both traditional English spellings going back to the 18th century so are spelled correctly

Sukie Mae

mummymei · 13/04/2022 19:00

Full name Susannah and let the nickname develop naturally. Susie and Sukie are both good potentials

PeskyRooks · 13/04/2022 19:19

Susie May

Theforest · 13/04/2022 19:35

Sukie definitely
Drop the Mae entirely

Blimecory · 13/04/2022 19:54

Susie May.
