Current top runners for baby number 3. Which would be your picks and why? Thanks!

Saskia snd Freddy.

Matilda and Eva too popular. Not keen on Tilly and don't like Tilda or Eva.
Dislike Sebastian and Rafferty and Sebby and Raffy

LittleBird4 · 01/04/2022 17:08

Saskia and Freddie are my favourite too.

MondeoFan · 01/04/2022 17:48

Saskia and Rafferty. Clear winners

DuckaLucka · 01/04/2022 17:49

Matilda
Raffy

Purely because I don’t like the others as much.

DuckaLucka · 01/04/2022 17:50

I like Mattie as a shortening for Matilda btw.

ISmellBurnings · 01/04/2022 18:00

Love Eva but it’s just way too popular, same with Matilda. Not really keen on any of the boys names.

clary · 01/04/2022 18:05

I like all of those OP. Freddie in particular is a great name ;) we clearly have similar taste.

If I had to pick - Matilda and Freddie.

clary · 01/04/2022 18:07

Oh I see you asked why! Well Freddie is good because Fred is a nice grown-up version and everyone can spell it and say it; also it is cute. Quite popular tho I gather.

Matilda is also a nice old English type name and I like Tilly or Mattie as nns. Also popular tho I believe. hey ho, just means you have good taste.

Amdone123 · 01/04/2022 18:08

Matilda and Sebastian ( but not Sebby ! )

VampireMoney · 01/04/2022 18:12

Matilda and Sebastian because I love both of those names. Definitely not Sebby as a nickname though!

Ontopofthesunset · 01/04/2022 18:28

I like both Matilda and Eva, and I don't dislike Saskia but think it looks a bit harsh. Sebastian is my favourite of the boys names, but Sebby could only really be a family diminutive when he was tiny. Freddie is fine but ubiquitous, and I really dislike Rafferty. Quite like Raff (not Raffy except as a baby nickname) as a shortening of Raphael though.

Ellmau · 01/04/2022 18:50

Saskia and Sebastian.

Fl0w3ry · 01/04/2022 19:06

Matilda and Sebastian because they are both names I love.

MargaritasOnMe · 01/04/2022 19:44

Matilda - brilliant name, excellent book. Wouldn't shorten to Tilly myself, but wouldn't be mad about it either.
Sebastian - absolutely love this. Was on my shortlist for dc2 and dc3. Honestly would have used it except a close friend used it just before dc2 was born and therefore felt I couldn't!

Liverbird77 · 01/04/2022 19:56

We call our Matilda "Mattie".
I've met other little GIS called Tilly, but never another Mattie..

bdd2017 · 01/04/2022 20:02

Saskia and Rafferty for me.

I love saskia

Luredbyapomegranate · 01/04/2022 20:03

All nice

Saskia because the others are overused

Sebastian, because Freddie is very overused and Rafferty is hipster c 1998. I like Bash as an older nn.

prettyprinceofpartiez · 01/04/2022 20:19

We have the same taste! I've got a baby Rafferty and he would have been Matilda if he'd been a girl :)

Jemimapuddleduk · 01/04/2022 22:49

Saskia and rafferty

Electrox · 01/04/2022 23:10

Saskia and Rafferty Smile

urbanbuddha · 02/04/2022 03:49

Saskia and Sebastian. Freddie if Sebbie's going to be the nn though.

spearmynt · 02/04/2022 04:55

Saskia & Sebastian!

Eva (Eve, Evie, Ava ect.) are very popular. Eva was also the wife of you know who... which really turns me off of it. I like Matilda but again, very popular at the moment. Freddie just makes me think of Freddy Krueger. I don't mind Raffy or Rafferty. What about Rafael?

Saskia sounds both feminine yet strong. Not popular but not too out there. Sebastian is one of my favourite boy names but unfortunately I can't use it as it's my nephews name.Grin I also love the nicknames Seb and Sebby.

custardbear · 02/04/2022 05:57

Saskia abs Sebastian, they were on my list for baby 2 but DH didn't like Sebastian so he became Cameron

maybein2022 · 02/04/2022 08:31

Thanks for all the feedback. Rafael is a nice idea and as I love the NN Raffy that could work I guess. Eva is now off the list I think. Awkward DH still isn’t coming round to Saskia but we both love Matilda. We’ll see! Also got lots of other names to talk about with him. Thanks again.

Saskia and Rafferty!
Eva quite common although lovely, don’t love Matilda. Love all three boys names but Rafferty is my favourite!
